Suffolk Amateur Interclub - 15th August

To give you a little more detail on the event



ADULTS (over 15yrs old)

* Interclub event - no win, no lose (both fighters receive a trophy for taking part)
* Full Thai rules, allowing elbows and knees to the head.
* Full protective equipment worn, including head guards, body guards, shin guards and 16oz gloves (all provided).
* Mouth guards, groin guards and hand wraps to be supplied by fighters.
* There will be two levels of contact: Full contact or light contact.
* Fights will consist of 4 x 1.5 min rounds with 1 min rest.



JUNIORS (15 years old or younger)

* Interclub event - no win, no lose (both fighters receive a trophy for taking part)
* Junior rules, NO punches, kicks, elbows or knees to the head (but all strikes are are allowed to the rest of the body) .
* Full protective equipment worn, including head guards, body guards, shin guards and 10oz gloves (all provided).
* Mouth guards, groin guards and hand wraps to be supplied by fighters.
* There will be two levels of contact: Full contact or light contact (both with no head contact allowed).
* Fights will consist of 3 x 1.5 min rounds with 1 min rest.

The event will be held on 15th August at the County Upper School, Beetons Way, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, IP32 6RF.

£5 entry for both fighters and spectators (under 13-yrs enter free when accompanied by a ticket holder). A coach and two cornermen may also enter free of charge.

Fighters weigh-in at 11:30am

Please give us your fighters full names as we will be announcing all fighters into the ring for the benefit of the audience.

Please also let us have fighters full experience, including non Thai boxing bouts to allow us to match more accurately. We want this event to provide fighters with a safe opportunity to gain ring experience and showcase Muay Thai for the spectators.

Mark has undertaken mostly B Class fights with no elbows or knees allowed. He wishes to try this amateur full Thai rules format to start to develop elbow techniques in the ring...
