Matee "Dragon Leg" Jedeepitak

Sawadee khup.

For those of you in the U.S., and especially in the Great Lakes region, I just wanted to let you know he's currently training out of Warrior Way (www.warriorway.com) in Michigan. If you have had the privilege of training with him, you know it was worth the effort to travel to his gym. As a supporter of his, I'd like to help increase his exposure and presence in the States as a trainer and particularly stress his willingness to travel and conduct seminars. I think you will find he is extremely fair in pricing, especially relative to some of the other Thai trainers who possess a marketable name with an almost celebrity status.

khap khun khup,

Pi Maetee is a great guy!! Excellent fighter too. Technical and beautiful to watch. More timing than 90% of 'world champs' put together.

I hope he is doing very well.

If it is the show that i was at I think that Attachai, Robert and Depitaak all fought that night. On the same bill if I remember correctly were...Jerome Lebanner, Rick Roufus and Jean Charles Skarbowski.

Isn't that Depitakk Sit Yodthong?? The one that can only fight farung?
Mark L.
Posted: 2004-02-24 17:35:53
Unless I'm getting them mixed up that would be Depitaak Sit. Yodthing. I'm pretty sure he only fights farung, could be one of the other Sit. Yodthong fighters. Fought with the Chinese too. Dosn't fight Thais. Great fighter though.

Absolutely, Flame.

We can have him perform a seminar series on secret techniques of working the corner, focusing on popping dislocated shoulders back in! Now I'm going to have to pop that video back in and watch. No pun intended, really.

LOL.

For sure what was it...four or five times that the sholder popped out...amazing!!!
Mark L.
Posted: 2004-02-24 22:27:58
I didn't pop it back in once for the record. Strange how many times I gave him his mouth guard though...well mine, he didn't have one...or a cup, or goz..tape, vasaline, Boxing oil..etc etc lol

Hes got heart man. Pajunsuk was way bigger(great guy too) younger, stronger. Pi Maetees shoulder came out 4 or 5 times. I think Pi Maetee is the better fighter...just past it. Pajunsuk shortly after won the Lumpinee title, Pi Maetee is done in Thailand. His technique is inspiring.

It's Yoddecha Sityodthong and Dejpitak ISS - not Dejpitak Sityodthong!
Mark L.
Posted: 2004-02-25 04:13:42
Yoddecha (Lui) basically just fights farung too right? I'm pretty sure there is a Depitak that fights out of Sit. Yodthong. Is ISS a name of a gym or a sponcer?

i watched Matee train some in san francisco. He was amazing, and he had the biggest calfs i have ever seen on a human WOW.
Pisand
Posted: 2004-02-25 08:34:45
He said he got those calves from standing on his toes during morning exercises as a schoolboy. He would have the teachers scold him and tell him to stand properly, but he'd keep doing the calf raises anyway knowing he'd be reprimanded and even swatted now and then.

ISS and brute force are sponsors and have gym in Pattaya also and Detpitak was originally of Sityodthong apparently he is huge now and drives a motorbike taxi in Pattaya!

OK so we're talking about the same person then.. thought so...

Yes - Dejpitak Sidyodtong was the fighter on that Mater Toddy/Sammy Kebchi card in Vegas a few years back. Believe he fought Wilfried Montagne of France.

wasnt the Pejunsuk vs Matee a ISKA N.A. Muay Thai Title fight?
Mark L.
Posted: 2004-02-26 09:28:00
Maybe, not sure...either that or world. I don't remember.

Pi Maetee came back to the corner and was happy cause he saw blood on Pajunsuk. Maybe I shouldn't have but I pointed out that he had cut his elbow. lol I have seen Pi Maetee fight in Thailand on a few videos and he has wicked elbows. Jom sok (super elbow).

Anyone seen his fight with Thongtai? I told him yesterday that he won for sure in my expert...well ok not expert opinion. lol He agrees...gambling. It was close though.

The big scar across his left eye brow is from the fourth round with Thongtai. poor Maetee landed about 6 or 7 sweet elbows without cutting him and Thongtai gets one good one in and... Then again the commentators were saying Thontai wouldn't get cut (charms) but if he landed one he'd cut.. What ever you want to believe thats whast happened. hehe

Contender

It was IKKC World Title...

Mark

I have the tape thanks to you....and seen the fight many times...Thongthai is awesome and one of my favorite fighters....most people that see the fight think Matee won the fight....that was one huge cut!!!! Matee landed lots of elbows but like you said they did not cut Thongthai.

Matee will be one of the guest instructors at the UWMTA camp this year along with Bunkerd and Pong. Should be a great 4 days of training capped by the fights on Saturday as part of the WKA muay Thai nationals.

I have met and hung out with both Pi Maetee and Pi Bunkerd. I can't say I know them that well but they are both great guys!!

Pi Maetee I have seen fight on tape about 4 or 5 times and cornered for him against Pajunsuk. He is amazingly skillful and very technical.

Pi Bunkerd I have seen fight once, though it was short. He looked great for sure and I know he has been around.

Looks like a great mix. Both speak English well.

I have never met Kune Pongsan or seen him fight.

I wish I could go.

All the best to them all and for the seminar.
