Billy Murray Promotions has landed the Super-fight of the decade , and yes fight fans its in Belfast at the Ulster Hall on December 19.–
Gary Hamilton versus Mohammad Samir
After trading punches with top French promoters, BMP will bring Samir to Belfast for a clash of two of the world’s best full-contact
kickboxing stars.
To top that what about:
WORLD boxing legend Marvelous Marvin Hagler is getting his kicks in a different form of combat these days – kickboxing.
The former middleweight champ, who had memorable tussles with Sugar Ray Leonard and Alan Minter, will be the Ulster Hall’s ringside when Ulsterman Gary Hamilton faces Mohammad Samir on December 19. More here....
For desert, how about this...two top fighters from Thailand clashing with Europe’s best!
And, the icing on the cake comes with Lydia Braniff’s attempt to become the first Ulster woman to win a WKN world championship belt.
Gary Hamilton says: "It’s great news that the fight is on in Belfast. Samir is a great talent, one of the best in the world at this moment. It’s the fight I have been working for all my life."
BOXING legend, Marvelous Marvin Hagler will spend Christmas in Belfast after he accepted an invitation to attend one of the city’s biggest ever fight nights at the Ulster Hall.
The former world middleweight champion who was involved in classic bouts with Sugar Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran, Thomas Hearns and Alan Minter, will be the guest of honour when Belfast’s Gary Hamilton challenges for the world kickboxing title.
Hagler, who will stay in Belfast with his wife Kay, accepted the invitation from promoter and former world champ Billy Murray.
Anyone going apart from Jags?
Will this be televised? I know some of Garys past fights have been live on Sky havent they?
It will be going out live on Euorsport
Cheers Jag, should be well worth watching.
Hey Jag good to see some more F.C news on the site.
I think we may have met before. I fought on an undercard in which Simon Dore fought Sheldon Schulster in the Park Avenue Hotel, Belfast.
I know Gary and Billy well. I think this is a great fight for Gary and a huge opportunity to step it up a gear in terms of his kickboxing career. Gary has been wanting to nail Samir ever scince he beat his team mate Farid Benminoun in 2000. I reckon if Gary is on form he can drop him.
Ive seen Samir fight on several occasions and he is a truly awsome sight when fighting F.C Kickboxing, the guy just doesnt stop! But, I would say he has had some hand picked fights (?). It will be great to see Gary rough him up.
I can't wait! i'll be there!
who are the thais and who they fighting???????? i asked this last time and nobody seemed to know
Hi Alan hopefully we will see you at the show.
Liam really enjoyed your fight at wolverhamton was a great show.

looks good. what weight is wkn's light-welter because i know allot of their weight categries are very heavy e.g lightweight 64.4kg?
havent storey and da silva already fought these guys?? whats point in flying them over again. i know da silvas was a draw but still.
Rodders the show is on next meon 19th Dec
I think these Thai's are based out of Ireland.
Liam,
Lots of fighters fight each other quite a few times, especially when the fights were so close. Rematches make interesting fights. Fighters from your camp have fought the same opponent on more than one occassion. At least it gurantees Rob a fight as he has been blown out on so many occassions. It would be rare for any decent fighters to finish their careers without at least one or two rematches on their records.
Would you not like to fight the Thai you last fought again?
Shaun
I believe they are from Craig O'Flynn's gym, based in Ireland for a while.
LOL @ Jag nd Mo. Sorry lads I completely misread the date! Maybe one too many brews!
Cheers fellas. (My second mistake on this forum now!)
sorry shaun i fought they were flying them all the way over from thailand again thats why i was questioning cos that dont usually happen it makes sense if they are in ireland also good for rob as he has been let down a few times.. to be honest i wouldnt like to fight duwao again though he won fair and square but i proved i can live in that class so i would like to continue fighting at that level against different opposition though.
No worries mate. It surprises me that you would not want to fight Duwao again, maybe not straight away, but maybe in the next 2-3 years. If you fought him in say - a couple of years - it would be a good gauge of how you have progressed and what you have learnt from that fight.
Imagine if you beat him.....
Rob has taken the fight because he continually gets blown out from fights over here and so I took the offer made by Billy Murray to fight them again as the fight was so close. Obviously Storey would like different opposition but people keep pulling out so what can I do? He had two pullouts in the last two fights! He has been to Ireland, Japan and Thailand with fights this year and will fight anybody anywhere regardless of who they are. He wants as many fights as possible because of age. Next year he will hopefully fight on Sean and johns show Feb and April. He will be matched against foreign opposition this time to guarantee fights.Showers has also been offered a fight in Feb and April hopefully for a world title as he has also been blown out of three fights in a row .I am simply playing the cards I have been dealt!
yeah shaun that would be good. ive got a few decent things coming up so hopefully the training out here and back home with mr smith will see me improve alot.
totally understand why these rematchea are on and good luck to our guys.
I forgot to say that the thais are in Ireland with Craig on a visa for a few months so he thought best to get them out as much as poss before they go back. If they were flying from Thailand then it wouldnt happen I dont think. It is handy for us though with rob needing a fight although he would prefer the alternative opposition. Rob and Paulo fly Sun and return tues. I think they are meeting Mavin Hagler Sunday night. A legend of sorts me thinks! Photo ops here we come

they are both unbeaten are they not?
looks like a draw and a rematch then. or am i just getting to cynical?
Dont know anyhting about Gary Hamilton! Samir Mohammed will send him on his ass.
So if you don't know anything about Gary Hamilton, how can you possibly come out with a comment like that ???????
gary hamilton is class. it will be a very good fight.
Briancal
I am confident about Samir Mohammed.
So who is this Gary Hamilton? record? anybody?
Gary Hamilton I think is also unbeaten! I think he stands a good chance of taking a win tonight! Can't wait!!!! Just about to leave for the airport!!! Look out for us in the crowd!!! lol!
Will do!! Barinder, keep jumping up and down so I can see you. lol
Its on Eurosport tonight so you have to wait!! lol
Samir won 4th round TKO.
Are all Full Contact fights like this becasue if they are I am a convert. The skill, ability, fitness and technique on show from both fighters was out of this world. One of the fights of the year IMO in any style and that`s the first FC bout I have ever watched properly! Reminded me of Alex Arthur v Michael Gomez without the knockdowns!
Also cannot beleive the young lady (was it Docherty) lost. That was another classic fight!
Fantastic show, well done to all involved and my MT naziism has now been addressed and corrected!
I saw Rob Storey losing by decision. I thought Rob did well and tried to make most of the running against a cocky, flashy opponent who only fought when he had to, but I suppose the Thai did take the fight in all honesty.
Also another Irish lad, Mick/Mark (cant remember his surname but it began with H I think), beating his German opponent quite convincingly on points in a low kick bout.
Saw a clip of another Thai fight in the end credits and the Thai seemed to down his opponent with a spinning elbow, but whether that was the end of the fight I dont know.
Great to see Marvellous Marvin Hagler interviewed and given a great reception. He even publically questioned the result of the girls fight where the Dublin lass (Docherty I think) won so convincingly it was untrue, but her 33 fight unbeaten ex world champion (and part time model!) opponent was given the decision.
Sorry, that wasnt much help really was it!
Sorry also for any disrespect in getting the names wrong but they were unfamiliar fighters to me and I`ve got a memory for names like a seive!
Looked like a great show, good production and good fights. Shame about the result on the Ladies bout, but otherwise a great advert for Kickboxing and Muay Thai. Anyone know the Paulo Da Silva result?
Damn, switched on at 8.20, must have just missed the De Silva fight, wanted to see that as well.
Watching the other fights more than made up for it though.
The Ladies fight was a terrible decision. Yes the Swiss lady did score with some good kicks but In my book it should have at a draw.
Gary Hamilton showed true Belfast 'Grit' and determination and the skills that took him to where he is today. Samir has to be the best pound for pound fighter @ 64kgs in the world - possibly all styles (minus elbows of course MT guys)!!!! He has reflexes like no human I have ever seen. UNREAL!
The fight started with so much power and pace. The kick that winded Gary came out of nowhere and from an angle ive never seen anyone kick. Gary found it too hard to recover from it especialy with time on the clock.
If every fight had the power and skill standard of the Samir and Hamilton fight F.C Kickboxing would be a very, very popular sport.
didn't catch all of it, saw the last two rounds and Samir looked very good.
Steve holdsworth kept going on about the weight of Hamilton, what was that anyone??
I see it was for the WKN light-welter title which acccording to their website has a limit of 66.7, which is roughly what everyone else calls welterweight. So what was Hamilton's weight, did he weigh very light??
any one answer that?
I think they said he gained a stone to get to this weight?
I don't know where the result of the ladies fight came from. I thought delaney had won it and I think quite a few others did also.
samir is not the best of all styles...fc, kb and in a sense also may be modified mt ok ...however, not the best in mt...there are many much more better fighters in this field...
reason; his reflexes, moves are very very top developed only for fc,kb (using angles, left kicks , esquiez etc)i.e. the ability developed maximum only in "pushing " (punch, kick) , however not top for mt... he never cannot be comparable with any of the lumpinee or raja champs...however, he may be counted one of the best kb fighters...
Missed the fight altoghter! Like I predicted BANG ON!!
so really then Hamilton is 61/63 kilo fighter. Brave to go against a naturally much bigger fighter, especially one as talented as samir.
Definately a true fighter.
Anyone know what Samir Mohammed's new record is? I dont beleive the last ones I heard is true.
I think they said that Samir had either 103, or 113 fights having won all of them. Last nights would have put him at 104/114. And they said that Hamilton was giving away a stone in the fight.
The first televised fight was Rob Storey, not De Silva - and I switched off after Samir-Hamilton! Doh!
Loved the Storey fight, but was gutted for him. It was a good win for the Thai, I just felt it was a pity that Storey didn't move in for the grapple/elbow before the 4th/5th rounds. He seemed to have a lot more success once he did that - the Thai seemed to tower above him and fought a clever fight using his reach.
The Delaney fight was one of the scariest I've ever seen! She terrified me! I too thought that she'd won, and can only assume that the judges saw the Swiss's kicks as the only CLEAN shots of the night. But I still believe Delaney deserved the decision.
All in all a good promotion. It was good to be able to show my girlfriend the difference between FC and MT so now she at least has an idea of what I go on about!
The only drawback for me was Steve Holdsworth commentating. He clearly hadn't done any homework and didn't seem familiar with the history between Storey and the Thai at least. I actually started missing Will Vanders! Come back Will, all is forgiven!
I was at the fights and I couldn’t believe the decision of Delaney fight either!! I haven’t a clue about kickboxing as I train in Muay Thai but Barbara beat the living day lights out of Chantal, and from the reaction of the crowd I wasn’t the only one who thought she won!!
Was chatting to Barbara afterwards like Dave A, I was a bit wary of chatting to her, but she was a really nice girl she seemed gutted with the decision as well!!
Regarding the Lydia Braniff Vs Neslihan Kaya World fight I don’t know how she is number one in the world as the ring announcer said! She had no guard and was literally running away from Braniff my 6 month old godchild hits better. No disrespect to Braniff as I’ve seen her fight a few times and have a lot of respect for her but that must have been the easiest fight she’s ever won in her life!!
As for the Thai fights they were really entertaining the highlight of the night for me but then I’m impartial being a Muay Thai Fan!
Hamilton moved up 2 weight classes for this fight, which in anyones eyes is a huge task. Allied to this he was fighting the best in the world at the weight, someone with a record of 108 fights, 108 wins, 74 by ko! Now 109,109 75!
Me Jag and Mark Gibbs, Just checkin out of our Hotel! was a great show! well done to Samir for winning, 109th fight. The venue was packed with a great atmosphere. Well done Billy Murray for putting on yet another great show! Love coming over to Ireland always well looked after! Look forward to coming back in the new year! Merry xmas and Happy new year to all! Photos to come!!!
Apologies about the stats Phil. Whichever way you look at it it's fairly impressive!
There was a thread on here sometime back about the legitimacy Samir's achievements but having watched a couple of his fights now, I'm starting to believe the hype. Incredibly entertaining with phenominal tehnique.
And that's coming from a Muay Thai devotee
I`m the same Dave, hugely impressed and it`s the first KB fight I had ever made a point of watching. They really were two masters of their craft.
Barbara Delaney was robbed! She clearly won that fight. What a great wee fighter .I'm 6ft2 and 85 kg and i wouldn't fancy stepping into a ring with her! She's a real warrior and has great stamina.I wonder if the judges took points off for not kicking enough ? Was there a manditory 8 kick per round rule in this fight? Good quality show though.I watched the fights until the end of the Hamilton - mohammed fight then switched over .Were there more fights televised after this? I thought Paolo Da Silva was fighting?I hope I didn't miss it!
davea, exactly what we thought rob should do aswell but unfortnately he broke his arm in the beginning of round two and went through the fight one armed and unable to clinch. He is now in plaster with a broken ulna bone and possibly operation job!!! To be honest he did well to finish cos the pain he was in!!!his plans of clinch just wasnt possible with on arm. He will be back.
The commentator mentioned the lack of clinch work in the fight and it was quite obvious to all watching, so that explains it. Good effort though.
Wow! He looked like he was nursing his left forearm, but I couldn't tell if he was trying to re-adjust his glove. Truly a battler in every sense of the word. For what it's worth Alan, please pass on my regards.
A decent performance at face value, an unbelievable performance when you know the full story
what can you say about this show other than it was great.
lets try to clear a couple of points up.
last year when we were in belfast for the same show, gary hamilton was fighting at 59 kilos. they weighed in the day before at belfast city hall. on the day of the fight when we were aat the weigh in, we saw him step on the the scales and weigh 66 k.
this year, he is fighting at 62k, and samir fights at 64k so they should not have been much different.
it was a great fight, but samir controlled it from the start and just had to step up the pace to finish it which he did in round 4 with his body kicks.
samir has now had 109 figfhts undefeated and he really is a very good fighter.
he is also a professional and makes his living from kickboxing and i know what the purse was from this fight and i was shocked when i found out. i hear a lot of people on here question him, but he is there to be beaten and he has fought some very good opponents.
gary hamilton has had 44 fights, 39 wins, 29 by ko. not enough for him to be ranked in fighters mag (sorry) but he is a great kickboxer to with the most fanatical support you will ever see.
the delaney v menard fight was fantasic, and the little girl has no fear. they do not use the kick dounters in low kick bouts, plus menard had a point deducted for holding, which should have evened up the 8 count in the previous round. however, the tall girl did not show any signs of bruising to her legs when she showed up at the after show party in hotpants! luckly, delaney did not!
Still it's not all bad news as gays are now legally allowed to marry so that should cheer him up! Good work Storey!
I like them Thai tattoo's all across the back!!!
this is mohamed samir, barinder and myself at the after show party.
mohamed is a really nice person as well as a great fighter.
also at the same party was marvin hagler who we met, but could not get him to agree to a photo. for the whole story about this, catch me at the next show by the bar and i will tell you.
we did get to spend a great couple of hours with trevor ambrose in our hotel bar and we had a great party.
what a weekend!

Hi Mark enjoyed your company, lets see if any of these picture work.
jag obviously spent more time behind the camera than i did!
so when we gonaa see him in Englang????
Id like to see him fight Cadden then we'd find out how good he is @ Full-MT.
Surely Cadden has shown how good he is already with his achievements thus far??
Sorry if i misread the post alan
can anyone clarify what happened in the da silva fight?
I think he has fought in England. Justin Reeks ring any bells?
Thats a great pic with Hagler.
last pic
samir mohhamed has fought in Uk several times including Hudders,Reeks and a couple of kickboxing fights with Jacko. He won them all. He is a great kickboxer but agreed that he remains untested on the Muay Thai circuit. I will say that he is extremely talented and although the program stated that Muay Thai was his Forte and that he is feared by thai fighters I havent seen any evidence of this yet. I know he beat Starbowski but again that was FC rules. He is a handful for any fighter I believe and i dont hink he bottled fighting Cadden as he didnt seem to know about it. It was a suggested proposal that never happened. It would be an interesting test to fight some of the UK tops at that weight though and I agree that it would be good to see. One thing for sure, even though he is more of a fc kickbox stylehe isnot to be underestimated with a record like that and ko power in hands and legs. To be honest he is a bit of a phenomenon!!!!
also rob storey will be out for at least four months with a steel pin in his arm. he broke his Ulna in round two and continued fighting to the end of the fight(mad man). This of course buggered his fight plan and to be honest i take my hat off for finishing the fight in major pain!!! He couldnt punch, defend properly or clinch and still fnished the fight. Respect from all at Keddles!!!!
how did rob break his arm was it from a kick from the thai
he did great to carry on
Samir did know he was fighting Cadden (thats not to say he bottled it) it was matched up for the WKN World title under full muay thai rules but about 3-4 weeks before the fight he pulled out ststing that he would not fight with elbows and only full contact rules for the title so Master Sken went and changed the fight straight away and brought in another fighter but it was not a title fight and i believe Beag won by 1st round KO, can't remember who his replacement opponent was though soz.
alan keddle has some good comments about samir, pretty much spot on.
i'm sorry that i did not say hello at the weigh in in belfast, i did not know who you were. i was with jag and barrinder.
i would love to see samir fight full thai rules to. i have seen him fight modified rules (no elbows) and he is awesum! i can understand the debate about world titles, but lots of thai fights that i see are under similer rules. especially european titles.
Hi, my name is Ken Molloy. I'm the head instructor of Fight Club Kickboxing. With me here is "The One" Barbara Delaney. We would like to start by thanking Billy Murray for the opportunity of taking part in his Kickmas III show. We've been to a lot of Kickboxing shows and this was a well run show, with some excellent fights, set in a fantastic venue.
Regarding our fight itself, we are of the opinion we won it, but we were told in WKN rules, winner of the round gets 10pts, loser gets 9.5kgs. But in the case of a knock down, winner gets 10pts, loser gets 8pts. Considering that Menard get a point taken away also, by our count the worst Barbara should have gotten was a draw. The fight before was a draw even though one person got a standing count. Also we were told that Barbara didn't kick enough (even though it was a leg kick fight and there is no mandatory kick count). We would also like to mention that Barbara is the IKF Irish Champion at -52kgs and faught Menard at -56kgs. We have no problem with a rematch, but Menard's camp said no "they're moving on and up". (Scared, I'd say)!!
