Awesome stuff Angie. Glad to hear the good news.
What a fight, best female fight I have seen.
Angie was in fine form using her range keeping Karen on the outside with front kicks and strong jabs and was also landing hard leg kicks. It was full Thai rules and Angie let go with a few elbows as did Karen but luckly neither of them got cut. Angie landed some nice head kicks and push kicks to the face but Karen was super tough and just kept coming forward.
It was a great display from two great fighters. I have seen some girls fight and it can get a little messy but last night both girls showed great technique and was even better then most guys fights.
And the Cage, oh my goodness, how crazy is that.
Thanks to everyone for there support. Thanks Karen and your team and thank you Pedro for putting us on your promotion.
Yeah, what he said!
Thanks Pedro, great promotion, great night and thanks for looking after us so well.
Thanks to Angie and Wayne for being such nice people.
:-)
Congrats angie on your win - but to both ladies for putting on what sounds to be an awesome fight and showing that the level of ladies fighting is right up there.
Excellent battle! should make you two proud cos you've had a better war than what some guys! Karen you should be very proud as you've fought one of the best in the world today...Congratulations Angela. A major contribution in our search to change the females' image in the guys' and public minds.
Thanks for the report, JWP!
Big Congrats to Angie!
Congrats to both Angie and Karen. Truely cool.
Nice one Angie, JWP you said it was "FTR" Im assuming the only difference was it was in a cage, Did this have any impact on the way the fight went and did you adopt a different strategy to overcome the rigidity of the cage?
Congrats Angie and Karen.
any pics?????
sounds like an awesome fight. well done ange and karen
nice one ladies... sounds like one helluva battle!
Hey folks! Thanks so much for your support. Karen was a touch lady. I felt really good and was not worried about my fitness at all. I know there is more I could have done, but I am pretty happy with my effort. The cage was just another highlight in my career. It was very cool, and was easy to fight in. Both Karen and I wanted to stay center ring and it made for a clean fight. We pretty much stayed away from the grapple so we wouldn't get pushed into the fence. I really have to thank the promoters, John Pedro and Tony Bonello. They were absolute legends and took care of us like family. Thanks guys and I believe I will be back in the cage this December:)

Thank you Sunny for the pictures.

Thank you Sunny for the pictures.
The Mexican guy is Angie's Dad Louie that came all the way from California to watch myself and Angie fight over the last two weeks.
He is a good Dad and a cool Father-in-law.
Other Girl is Asha "the Basha" who helped us in the corner and took care of us while in NSW. She is fighting next week on the 6th on Jabouts show at Penrith.
Thanks for the pics! Some good ones too lol
Congrats !! Angie.
All the best from Holland to you Jwp and the kids.

Thanks for the pics
I just noticed are the girls wearing the same stlye in skirts ?
Yeah Scottya, we have the same style. I said to Karen straight after the fight that I loved her skirt and she said that she copied me. She is very down to earth, I like her personalitly very much.
Wayne,
From your perspective as a fighter what are your thoughts as to kickboxing/thai boxing fights in a cage? As a fighter how does the size, structure and fencing as opposed to ropes change the dynamics of the fight.
John & Tony are good people and I know they both love the idea of more standup (non mma) fights on their cards.
Justin
I am a fighter from the U.K and would like to say very well done to Angie on her win, also thanks for the whole boonchu family for being an inspiration to "normal fellas" in this sport,im a dad and a fighter.......thanks folks!
Hi,
I'd like to ask Angie and Karen what they thought of fighting in a cage compared to a ring? I fought in a cage a couple of times a few years ago at one of Lee Hasdell's shows and i actually preferred it to a ring.
Thanks
C
btw. congrats!!
Congrats to both Angie and Karen. Well done.
