Hi Craig,

We are having a slight reshuffle on locations of events for the 2007 season. The dates are staying losely the same ( Jan / Mar / May / Jul / Sep / Nov ).

The planned SENI AKA event in May will not be happening as the SENI07 will now be in London.

Check the Cockerton club for availability on the last Saturday/s (19th) and/or (26th) May.

Thanks. The event went fantastic, and the level of the competition for the Seniors that were headlining was very impressive - the crowd loved it!

The credit though should really go to Paul Pearson, Craig Willis, and their team.

Many weeks of preparation paid off in the end. They worked so hard, I am really pleased for them.

Everyone that I have spoken with, and myself, are really looking forward to the next event in Darlington.

Hopefully we will see you at the next event!

Hi neil, thanks for the thanks, you also worked hard on this event and also all the other aka events so well done and thank you!. The newspapers have all been interested this week and we hope to have something go out this week and next, keep you posted on it and get you copies of anything that comes out.The editor of our local rag is especially interested in rob newton given that he is still only 16years old,and the olympic scoring angle that you have with the aka seemed to be at the forefront of his conversation,so we expect to get a good article out of him,as i said earlier neil we will keep you posted.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the positive comment on my bout with Graham Sayer. What a battle, I certainly felt like 'a trooper' after it ( ain't gettin old briliant ).

I agree that the standard of all competitors was superb and Paul, Craig and Neil should feel proud of the event.

Can't wait until the next one.

Darren your a star!

I have been making arrangements this weekend for the venue for the next event for which the dates etc will be posted in due course. With the great support and reputation the AKA has now established and the calibre of competitors constantly rising, it should be a stormer!!

Wow, I have been off the Tin-Ter-Net for a few days and there has been posts galore!

Craig, thats great that you managed to book the next Darlington A.K.A. event for May 2007. Everyone is still buzzing about how good Nov 18th was.

Met with Pele this week, and Altrincham are taking the July event.

But most importantly is the next show. David and his school will be hosting the 1st event of the season at Lowton Civic Hall on Saturday February 10th. ( a great venue used regularly for A.B.A. Amateur Boxing ).

Especially with the title defences and rematches that are out there ( Hey trooper! ).

Also the International title opportunities are looking good. I am currently bouncing emails with several schools wanting to field their guys against our champions, including a possibility from Korea! They have seen the video downloads on the A.K.A. website and are really impressed. They seem serious enough so it could happen sometime in 2007 as appartently they are adapting the A.K.A. format to their sparring training!

The 2007 season is looking pretty exciting! With everyone pulling together I have no doubt that it will surpass the success that has been acheved this year!

At the moment it looks that we will have Dutch headlining in February, so don't be letting any of your champions have too much Christmas pudding!
david eckersley
Posted: 2006-11-28 08:20:18
mmm... Korea, excellent!! itll be like best of the best!

Thanks for the feb plug Neil, just to add we will be able to comfortably seat around 350 to 400 people all at tables, with a full bar and possible outside caterers - to be confirmed.

Who knows maybe a european heat next year some time or 2008! turkey or holland.

BTW all the guys and girls who attended Craigs show were really impressed. well done again.

Hi Guys

Looks like I'm gonna have to adopt "the trooper" as my nickname ( it seems to have stuck thanks to Dave ).

The line up for next years season looks top class. Can't wait for my rematch and the possibility of competing against some fighters from arounf the world.

My own club is starting to get the buzz now too, with more and more members considering climbing throught the ropes.

Nice one.

Does anyone actually attend these shows other than the fighters. I always see post saying last few tickets available..Then at the shows there's nearley three quarters of the seats empty.

I don't want to cross thread but the one in Turkey looked like the seats bought the seats and sat there themselves if you get what I mean. Can anyone shed any light on this and more to the point explain where everyone is actually sat if not in the seats they have paid for?
Craig Hanuman
Posted: 2006-12-16 09:46:55
I cant speak for the Turkey show as I wasnt there - but our show in Darlington was a sell-out, IMO its been the best one so far crowd and atmosphere-wise...it was like an amateur boxing show, with Ringside seats and sponsors tables etc. We sold 400 tickets to supporters and had people paying on the door, standing room only left !!

Hopefully this will be the benchmark for other shows this year to follow.
paul pearson
Posted: 2006-12-16 10:50:55
Hi Nige, the turkey show venue held 5,000 people,a lot of them seated, however the actual crowd on the night will of been beetween 600-800 people, not full by any means but a good crowd. The turkish peolple told me that muay thai is in its infancy in that area of south turkey but growing rapidly, incidentally the show had a mixture of amm and pro muay thai including 2 bouts full rules. Also if the photos had been taken from the opposite side we would of seen seated spectators there also.
