Theres some nice pics there Neil..(shame you couldnt edit my head out of some of them LOL!!)
Looking forward to the next event in January in Leigh, you can guarantee we'll be there again - and I'll be pushing for another event in Darlington after the success of this last one !!
Hey Craig hope you are well...........there must have been something in the water when we fought in the world champs back in 95..........both still looking young he he!
Hi Rich...lets face it i couldnt look any worse !!!
I was 8 stone dripping wet back then, sh*tting for England and yellow if you remember !!! LOL
Hope your well mate - it would be nice to catch up with you sometime !!
Hi Craig,
We are having a slight reshuffle on locations of events for the 2007 season. The dates are staying losely the same ( Jan / Mar / May / Jul / Sep / Nov ).
The planned SENI AKA event in May will not be happening as the SENI07 will now be in London.
Check the Cockerton club for availability on the last Saturday/s (19th) and/or (26th) May.
hi neil
looks like the show went really well.
well done.
hi neil,we will check the availaability of cockerton club for those dates you have given in may,it was a great sucess last saturday from our side, some really good bouts, especially the gary rickerson vs chris heath bout, that bout could of been top of the bill in any show,a rematch would be great.
Thanks. The event went fantastic, and the level of the competition for the Seniors that were headlining was very impressive - the crowd loved it!
The credit though should really go to Paul Pearson, Craig Willis, and their team.
Many weeks of preparation paid off in the end. They worked so hard, I am really pleased for them.
Everyone that I have spoken with, and myself, are really looking forward to the next event in Darlington.
Hopefully we will see you at the next event!
Sorry Paul, I missed your post then - (mid-typing).
Fingers crossed for a May date!
I have some more pictures due, just waiting to receive the emails. I will post them when they eventually arrive.
Have you any newspaper reports from the show? I would love to see them if you have.
Hi neil, thanks for the thanks, you also worked hard on this event and also all the other aka events so well done and thank you!. The newspapers have all been interested this week and we hope to have something go out this week and next, keep you posted on it and get you copies of anything that comes out.The editor of our local rag is especially interested in rob newton given that he is still only 16years old,and the olympic scoring angle that you have with the aka seemed to be at the forefront of his conversation,so we expect to get a good article out of him,as i said earlier neil we will keep you posted.
Craig ive never seen anybody sooooooo ill in thailand!
Yea catch us sometime mate.
Rich - it serves me right for being a greedy pig mate - all that free thai food at the welcoming meal in the hotel...god knows what i was eating, but i ate it...and it knobbled me good and propper !!! Im the only man to be scarred for life by toilet roll !!! LOL
Im down your way at the show in Wolverhampton this Sunday - if your there pop over for a chat !
Neil - Im on the case already regarding the venue !!!
i agree, an excellent day!!
Well done craig and his team. Lots of the novice bouts were also very good giving excellent promise for the future.
These events are going from strength to strength.
WELL DONE CRAIG AND HANNUMAN TEAM.
Sayer vs Langthorn was excellent too! - darren is just a trooper! and graham is always excellent to see in action.
All my team enjoyed their contests and are raring to go for the next event.
Neil I have lots of photos which i will give you on disc tomorrow.
EXCELLENT STUFF
David
Again another fine AKA event. Thanks to all involved making it a most excellent day.
Hi Dave,
Thanks for the positive comment on my bout with Graham Sayer. What a battle, I certainly felt like 'a trooper' after it ( ain't gettin old briliant ).
I agree that the standard of all competitors was superb and Paul, Craig and Neil should feel proud of the event.
Can't wait until the next one.
Regards
Darren Langthorne
Darren your a star!
I have been making arrangements this weekend for the venue for the next event for which the dates etc will be posted in due course. With the great support and reputation the AKA has now established and the calibre of competitors constantly rising, it should be a stormer!!
David your right! darren langthorne is a star!Graeme sayer is a great champion and a rematch would be great for the aka and our sport.
Ive got the Darlo venue booked again for May...maybe a good time to rematch ?
As darrens coach i would love that to take place in may!
Wow, I have been off the Tin-Ter-Net for a few days and there has been posts galore!
Craig, thats great that you managed to book the next Darlington A.K.A. event for May 2007. Everyone is still buzzing about how good Nov 18th was.
Met with Pele this week, and Altrincham are taking the July event.
But most importantly is the next show. David and his school will be hosting the 1st event of the season at Lowton Civic Hall on Saturday February 10th. ( a great venue used regularly for A.B.A. Amateur Boxing ).
Especially with the title defences and rematches that are out there ( Hey trooper! ).
Also the International title opportunities are looking good. I am currently bouncing emails with several schools wanting to field their guys against our champions, including a possibility from Korea! They have seen the video downloads on the A.K.A. website and are really impressed. They seem serious enough so it could happen sometime in 2007 as appartently they are adapting the A.K.A. format to their sparring training!
The 2007 season is looking pretty exciting! With everyone pulling together I have no doubt that it will surpass the success that has been acheved this year!
At the moment it looks that we will have Dutch headlining in February, so don't be letting any of your champions have too much Christmas pudding!
mmm... Korea, excellent!! itll be like best of the best!
Thanks for the feb plug Neil, just to add we will be able to comfortably seat around 350 to 400 people all at tables, with a full bar and possible outside caterers - to be confirmed.
Who knows maybe a european heat next year some time or 2008! turkey or holland.
BTW all the guys and girls who attended Craigs show were really impressed. well done again.
david
Did any of your guys get any photos?
Hi david, just to let you know the fire cobra camp bishop auckland will be attending your show in feb,any help you need dont hesitate to ask,see ya soon.

Hi Guys
Looks like I'm gonna have to adopt "the trooper" as my nickname ( it seems to have stuck thanks to Dave ).
The line up for next years season looks top class. Can't wait for my rematch and the possibility of competing against some fighters from arounf the world.
My own club is starting to get the buzz now too, with more and more members considering climbing throught the ropes.
Nice one.
Darren
Hey trooper, drop me a txt bout training tommorow please.
Darren I get 25% everytime you use the name "trooper" LOL!!

Probrably the best pic of the day...
Great pics Neil....slightly disapointed theres none of the best looking cornerman in the North-East !!
I meant me !! LOL
Hey craig! im the best looking cornerman in the north east, everybody knows that!.
Yeah and everyone in the North-East knows you left your glasses in Thailand !!
Mmm yeah i did didnt i! in the raja shop as i remember rightly, but people still tell me im the best looking coach in the n/east,and i agree!.
Damn - think you must have left your hearing aid at the Lumpinee - i think they are saying the best f..cking coach in the North-East !!
You see how i did that...clever eh, dug myself out of that one !!!
![](http://message.axkickboxing.com/images/user_uploaded/Neil%20Holden/Bond_Willis.jpg)
Craig, some people think that you have the a resemblance to the new Bond...
![](http://message.axkickboxing.com/images/user_uploaded/Neil%20Holden/AKA_Mar06_13.jpg)
.........
Im the good looking one in the middle!
Bond ??? LMAO
Im more like Brook Bond - that character out the Russel Abbot series...(now im showing my age !!!!)
LOL....typical !
Its not my missus who makes me wear a balaclava in bed !!
He he he how do you know that then?!.
It was just a wild stab in the dark...
Which incidentally, is probably what I'll get next time Im in Bishop Auckland after insinuating they were all hill-billy-hill-tribesmen on another thread !
Does anyone actually attend these shows other than the fighters. I always see post saying last few tickets available..Then at the shows there's nearley three quarters of the seats empty.
I don't want to cross thread but the one in Turkey looked like the seats bought the seats and sat there themselves if you get what I mean. Can anyone shed any light on this and more to the point explain where everyone is actually sat if not in the seats they have paid for?
I cant speak for the Turkey show as I wasnt there - but our show in Darlington was a sell-out, IMO its been the best one so far crowd and atmosphere-wise...it was like an amateur boxing show, with Ringside seats and sponsors tables etc. We sold 400 tickets to supporters and had people paying on the door, standing room only left !!
Hopefully this will be the benchmark for other shows this year to follow.
Hi Nige, the turkey show venue held 5,000 people,a lot of them seated, however the actual crowd on the night will of been beetween 600-800 people, not full by any means but a good crowd. The turkish peolple told me that muay thai is in its infancy in that area of south turkey but growing rapidly, incidentally the show had a mixture of amm and pro muay thai including 2 bouts full rules. Also if the photos had been taken from the opposite side we would of seen seated spectators there also.
Cheers for the clarification.
Check these out! Copy and paste...
