I was curious if anyone knows about this.../??
I weight train 3 days a week...for 6 weeks on and then take a 1 week rest, I was curious if anyone knows or has an opinion as to whether I should refrain from bag work for that rest week also....??? I think yes, but I have heard various and differing opinions.... so I thought I would ask for more....

thanks,
Mark L.

my guess it depends on how you are doing bag work and what your training goals are.

If you are doing 6 weeks on one off weights I'm guessing its for recovery?

Bag work and weights is certainly a different type of training but all stresses add up as does recovery...

I would think, guessing on your motives for breaking with the weights, that bag work wouldn't be a big deal unless you go all out and kill yourself on the bag all the time, in which case you could probably use more a a break anyway.

When you do your weights are you doing different training phases or just one way heaevy and break over and over?

It really would partly depend on your training goals and phases.

Wouldn't hurt to spend a week on technique or maybe speed...

Over all I don't think it would matter too much but just trying to think logically-don't really know :)
