If this news is true, it's a very sad day in the world of kickboxing. I heard just a little while ago. I hope it's not true. If so, May he Rest In Peace.

Dana Goodson is one of the best and most respected trainers in Australia. He was born in the US and came to Australia in the late 70s I believe. He is also the trainer of Stan "The Man". I have a lot of respect for this man and I am very sad to hear of his passing. Condolences to his family. He will be miss by the Australian Kickboxing community. May he rest in peace.

Kickboxer, how did this news hit overseas so quickly?

Dana Goodson was one of the most well known and respected trainers in Australia. A familiar figure in Australian kickboxing circles since the early days, he was most well known locally and overseas as being Stan Longinidis' trainer from 1990 until 1998, and also trained many great local Australian fighters over the years from Nick Talakouris, Nick Tetores, Jim Tetores, Tibor Vermes, Songul Oruc, Chris Collard etc. Dana was a respected professional fighter in his younger days having been the Australian Heavyweight Champion.
Rest in Peace Dana, a huge hole is left in the kickboxing scene down under with your passing.

My condolences to Dana's family and friends.
It has been a terrible year in regards to people within the sport passing away. Dana is the forth person that I know of.

In case anyone was wondering, the cause of death was either a stroke or a heart attack, not sure which as yet.

It definitely is a sad day for aussie kickboxing, my condolences to Dana's family, friends, and students. May he rest in peace.

To A Dear Friend & Mentor Dana Goodson

I would like to send our condolences to Dana's wife & Family ,
Dana Goodson was a very good friend and Mentor, it has been a very sad loss to the Kickboxing Industry here in Australia and Worldwide...
Dana was always there for me when I needed help and to give good advice for my fighters on how to be humble & to respect your trainer & manager, he always put me up on a pedestal and let everyone know that I was the Queen of kickboxing here in Australia,he always made me feel that everything I did in kickboxing was worth it... without his encouragement and words of wisdom, I know I would not have got as far as I have with this sport today....Thank You Dana for everything........
I will miss you my friend may you rest in peace and until I see you again Bra! God Bless ........
Your Dear friend & Sis Lucy Tui & Family Sydney NSW.Australia
Alex Tui & Team Tui Mark Hunt, Peter Graham, Auckland Auimatagi.Team Jez NSW.
Our Deepest Sympathy to Dana!s wife and Family & to all his fighters & friends in Australia...

This is a very Sad day for Thai/Kickboxing.
I met Dana in Hong Kong when my fighter Julie Cross fought Songul Oruc. Dana was the perfect gentleman. I had videoed the fight and we shared a few beers and jokes after the fight at our hotel whilst we watched the fight again. It was great to be able to take part in a big fight and then sit down as friends afterwards!
Best wishes to his family and friends.
Rest in peace Dana!
