Full Contact Kickboxing - 30th June, South Shields

Hi everyone. Myself and Steve East are co-promoting a full contact event on Saturday 30th June at the Temple Park Leisure Centre in South Shields.

Re. rankings. Got to be honest, have not got anything on Jamie Moore who has a european title. Can anyone put on here anything about him please. Fight record, who he has fought etc, so we can rank him accordingly.

I'll let his coach, Steve East answer that one as I know he'll be on the forum tomorrow. I was there the night Jamie won the European beating a guy from Malta. 1st round TKO I think it was.

I also know he won a WAKO Pro North East title last year (I know cos he beat one of my lads. AAARRRRGH!!!). He also won the WAKO British this year.

Anyhow, pop Steve an E-mail (kuei_ling1@yahoo.co.uk) and he'll be happy to give you Jamie's record, who he's been in with etc. so you can put him in the rankings.

Hi Colin , its Steve East of Kuei-Ling, sorry i havent replied earlier but ive been waiting for my password to come through. With reference to Jamie Moore , heres his fight record . had 8 won 7 .

In April this year he defeated Mathew Portelli of Malta for the WUMA European title ( first round tko ). In Febuary he defeated Ben Whitehead to take the WAKO British title ,Last year he stopped Wayne Bullock in the 3rd round to win the WUMA British. Prior to these fights he has beaten Craig Bulmer in Oct 2005 for the WAKO Northern Area Title . Jamie generally comes in at 100kg and is 6'3" .Hope this clarifies things .

Is Andy already the champion? Who did he beat for the title?

Gutted he couldnt make the Barinder fight. Ive seen Barinder fight a couple of times and when i saw Andy beat Shawn Burton in Newark i decided if they were ever matched up i'd definately go to see it. Any chances of that fight coming off now?

Spoke to Michael Johnson the other day and Andy will not be fighting Wesley Mckay, but Welsey camp want it!

I just hope they get a creditable opponent for Andys title, Andy is a good fighter and anything other than a very good opponent will be a real shame.

In answer to Barinder's question it's 99% confirmed that Andy will be matched with Wilson Snoddy from Belfast (former WKA world champion and holder of many Irish titles), so yes Shawn, credible and VERY good opponent.

I've seen Wilson in action a couple of times and he's mint! It will be worth a trip up north to see it.

It's true that Welsey's camp did ask for the match but I didn't know him and had to do some asking around first. No disrespect to the guy (at all) but I don't think he's yet ready to compete at this kind of level (but game of him to ask!) and Barinder illustrated that fact very swiftly, confirming my thoughts on the matter.

Yes Mick, Andy is the current champion, he took it from Carl Swaby from Cheltenham. In answer to your other question, yes, I certainly hope so. Barinder V Burty will be an awesome match. I know Barinder has asked on another thread to fight the winner of the WKF world title (coming off in Italy, so (touch wood) if Andy brings it home and the powers that be are happy to sanction the match, then that may well be the opportunity to make it happen.

Andy is the no 1 in the UK and will sign the contracts for the Italy World Title Fight,as agreed at the open meeting at Grand Master Goffs Sat 30th June at 12/30.
As for Barinder getting a shot at the title if or when Andy wins the WFK Pro World Title. Thats down to the WFK World Fight commision,they will decide who and where Andy will defend the tile if he wins it.As i have stated before the WFK is one of the biggest kickboxing orgs in the world today,
And there will be trainers in many parts of the world that will want a slice of this WFK World Title,So the Barinder match i dont think will happen at this time,probably with iska as they dont use the same system of vetting fighters as the WFK.Not saying B is not good enough he certainly is,but WFK works the way it works and its a very profesional way of setting up credible fights and very fair to.

any news on andy's opponent? Say hi to him and Jhono ( Michael Jhonson) for me greevo!
