Faisal Zakaria vs Nobu Hayashi Japan 16th Sept

Yep, - Faisal's 3rd tough fight in about 7 weeks - feeling good for it though and training well with Nicholas and Peter in Tokyo.

Faisal is fighting Nobu Hayashi in Japan on Sunday 16th of this month - I think on Titans Neo2 event. A tough and heavier fighter with a big name in Japan, but we are sure to get a strong fight by faisal who is rather keen to introduce himself to the japanese with a good win.

anyone wanting to check out Nobu's profile it's on the k-1 japan site - fighters profiles. or google him

Unfortunately I am still in Thailand, sorting stuff out here, so thanks to the actions ( or lack of ) of a particular promoter here I doubt very much I will be there in Japan on Sunday which is gutting and sucks but I am sure that Nicholas and Peter will give him support enough to see him through to a win on the night -

Will keep you posted on the fight

x

Well Home town decisions, don't they just suck when they are against you!!

Talked to Faisal briefly last night after his fight and sounds very much like he fought a beautiful strong and hard fight - very active throughout and throwing every of his weapons at Nobu, - and I am not surprised Faisal was absolutely amped and on fire for this one - there wasn't much that was gonna stand in his way of a win !!( except perhaps a hometown dec ofcourse )

Faisal and his corner ( Peter Graham and crew ) absolutely had no doubt Faisal had won the fight and convincingly at that!! - when Nobu was announced the winner it sounds like surprise very quickly turned to anger when there was a wee commossion'' centre ring as Peters anger was vented and the decision very much disputed!

Twice, once in the ring still and again after out the back in the changing rooms Nobu acknowledged to Faisal with head bowed that the decision had not been the right one -

I haven't seen the fight or know much more than the above yet - so will let you know more a proper fight report as I myself get one from Pete -

I am very proud again of Faisal, his third hard fight in such a short time and he went into this fight with his feet and ankles far from 100% - he's been having trouble with them and they were very sore already going into this fight -

Thank You to Peter, Nicholas and the crew for taking such good care of Faisal and looking after him so well these past weeks and being such a positive support in the corner last night - respect!

So what's next on the fight agenda for Faisal ?? - he said to me last night that he was already looking forward and amped for the next fight before he got out of the ring from this one - lol - We have a few probables lined up over the next months that are just at the moment getting fully confirmed and sorted but some good exciting fights ahead I asure you - will keep you posted as and when -

cheers and thanks guys

You guys know who won, especially when the opponent himself concedes the result was not of his making, to say the least. But to the credit of the opponent he was honest with you as to his thoughts on the matter, so maybe it wasnt a deliberate attempt to "Rob" you of a win as much as just plain bad judging. Would love to see the fight video on youtube perhaps??? All the best with any and all upcoming bouts, and knock the other guy out to avoid any "discrepancies" in the judging is the only advice i have to avoid these unfortunate occurences eh :)

As Caitalin's Mother and Faisals Mother-inlaw ,

I have to say how excited I am for them, congratulations to Faisal> He is so focused.I feel sure he will do well.
I hear he was looking resplendant in his new 'Fight gear , great new cape and corner outfits too..

Before Faisal came into our lives, bless his heart, I had absolutly no interest in any form of boxing/kickboxing or anything like it.
I can't believe that now , I have on occassion, been heard screaming at the side of the ring like a banshee, and now I am putting a post up on a site like this!
Wonders will never cease.!

Hi All

Someone just found this fight report for me - thought I'd share' share'

it was on the sportsnavi site

Highlight
Zakaria with more than 200 fights on record - Nobu has been fighting K-1 internationally, he will try to win this by lowkick.

Round 1
Knee, clinch, back kick, Faisal gave Nobu alot of pressure. Nobu could control the pressure but could not attack effectively.
Nobu was very defensive. faisal was busy and tricky but his attack was not powerful enough.

round 2
Too much clinch, referee gave them a caution. Nobu hit left hook but not much effect. He tried to throw left hook, right low kick but all obsorbed by Faisals clinch.
This round was too much clinch, less intensity.

round 3
Faisal showed high spinning backkick. Nobu showed nice hook. Nobu was frustrated by Faisal's clinch. Faisal showed large number of kicking technique but Nobu tried not to show any damage by Faisal's kicks. Just end of round Nobu hit nice right hook but Faisal appealed no damage.

2-0 ( 30-29, 30-29, 29-29 ) Nobu but it was not an easy victory.

there you go guys - that's o0ne review for you - will post any mroe as I find -
cheers much -

We all know that Japan is home of the blatantly biased decision, they practically invented it.
Norm, if Faisal had knocked him out, it would have been scored a draw.

lol yoda - you said it I didn't! strait up we had been warned!

I would have said knock him out to get a draw, but i didnt want to get your hopes up eh!

To be honest with you,the fight report indicates to me that a lot of clinching was going on without any knees or activity-in other words clinching to close down an attack/fight.Trying to read between the lines of a rather sketchy fight report aint like being there exactly is it lol, but the flavor of the report is reminiscent of the type of fight that is less than desirable in the eyes of the judges.

Im not sure whether K1 rules were used, but i assume that was the case, but if it were MT rules, axe kicks and spinning hook kicks that either dont land or thrown without power and that have no effect would have lost you the fight before you even stepped in the ring.

Actually i would love to hear Peter Grahams take on why he thinks Faisal won the fight- or didnt lose the fight.

Fight style?? who Knows.Faisals rather unique fighting style may see him get robbed time and time again.Perhaps his cornermen can wear policemans uniforms next time, to keep the judges honest!

What a shame...
Home town decisions are more or less the same worldwide, with a few places (such as Norway) being the exception. Then again they dont have much Kick Boxing there, and most times they intervene as peace brokers in war torn countries.

Next time maybe, a big Ax kick to settle the issue, then no need to bother with score cards. Good to see Faisal staying busy at such regular pace.

Hes busy allright. No need to have intense workouts when you fight that regularly is there- just only need a workout to shake the muscle soreness out after one fight and another couple to fire yourself up before the next battle begins :-)

Hey Norm

Was doing some reading last night, "The importance of being Eernest" by Oscar Wilde- that's all. Thats priceless wisdom!

Anyhow was hoping to see Faisal win this one, hopefully he makes it big in Japan. Certainly got the moves to go. Sooner or later, all it takes is a big KO of big name.

Good luck Faisal and Caitlan.

Wasnt trying to take the piss out of your comment alltogether eh Boa, i just saw an opportunity and ran with it!. No offence intended - I save that for illiterates like meself, but I take it your "being Earnest" book was a lesson about Norway?? whatever, seems like Faisal would have won if he fought there , so i think i see what your saying.Kind of anyway- (must read that book myself i guess)

Hey Norm

All good mate: wasn't trying to "juxtapose" a piss take at all, infact the comment you make has a deep meaning in it. Maybe Oscar was Norwegian, a viking maybe?

Perhaps Japan can get Judges from Norway? then Peter and Nicholas don;t have to wear cop uniforms. Good read that book i mentioned.
