Gav won in 13 seconds of round one. Johnny Ho came in fast to take him down and Gavin threw 2 really hard accurate punches that just cleaned him out. As Ho was going down Gav landed a big uppercut but Ho was out cold already.

Am really pleased for him. He was very nervous going into this fight as it was something completely new to him but he dealt with it all really well

wow!
nice work.
short nights work.

did he fight at his normal "thai" fight weight?
Dave Jackson
Posted: 2008-03-03 04:38:28
He fought at 77kg which is a bit heavier than he can make (fought at 74.5kg in Spain) but he was much stronger at the heavier weight.

Thought he might do....
I think its a different type of fitness and a different type of strength required in MMA to MT.

I like how you have got through the mesh so it looks like you were actually in the cage with them. Good work lass.

How long has Gave been training in MMA?

Hi everyone Gav has emailed me and asked me to post this on his behalf.
Gav Sterrit writes:

"Just like to say a massive big thankyou to Dave Jackson for his help, belief and support on Sunday, you know the score and it really helped me, thanks.

Also, Brian Austin (Bullet Baxter), Gary Kelly, Paul Kelly, and all the lads from the wolfslair who gave advice and support. Couldn't have done it without you. Also big thanks to Dean White for his kind words and long term support.

Just a quick note as well to say I haven't finished with Muay Thai yet, so don't get too comfy, just trying something else for a bit and then i'll be back."

I think he's only been training seriously in MMA for 6 months but dont quote me on that, he's involved in the Wolfslair Team with Dave being the Thai coach, initially i think he went down to help some of the lads with there stand up i.e. sparring with them, clinching with them, and then tried the floor work and thats all she wrote! he now fights it and from what i heard he fights it very well. Anyone who's fought him will now how technical and powerful he is so just imagine being hit off him with 4oz mits on ouch!!!
Plus i think when he decides to go back into Thai he'll have added power cos ive found more strength while doing BJJ its a different of work out, it batters your upper body!

He actually started training around about UFC 70 which was almost a year ago crazylegs :)

He has mostly been working with the Brazilians for his Jits, me for his MMA and Brian Austin for his Thai padwork.
