it will contest mostly our fighters against bad company fighters.
michelle newell will compete against charlotte webster in an intersting rematch. this will be for a british title at 51.5 kg. kerrith bhella competes against tom bird in a good little battle of up and coming lads. adam morgan and shaun walker will be making their debuts against steve smith and james lees respectively. also on the show will be ivan damyanov who competes against arunas slicius from london and billy waterworth will fight an opponent to be arranged.
a big thanks in advance to all those that support the show

Is there parking at the venue please ! If not can anybody give a location of parking nearby !
Wainey
Posted: 2008-09-28 08:30:22
all around the venue are car parks within 2 minute walking distance as it is in the city centre. theres broad st car park, the car park next to the railway, car park at the rear of the light bar, further car parks up by the civic centre.

sorry edski for the short show!!- there was some late pull outs- a real shame for billy waterworth who only found out that he was not fighting a couple of hours before!!!- but it was another great show for firewalker fighters and members- i would like to say a big thanks to richard smith and the badco team for their support- the firewalker fighters did kirkwood and myself proud- shaun and adam both had their first fights and showed good spirit and skill as did the opponents- kerriths contest with tom bird was very good- kerrith showing maturity and explosive combinations- tom was countering well with round houses- both boys looked like future champions but last nights fight with the support of the crowd belonged to keg with a very powerful left hook- michelle also showed a belief we had not seen- she had lost charlotte last year but had worked very hard in the gym and with the chance to win a british title and make amends for the defeat she got herself in great shape physically and mentally- michelle looked strong with her punches and knees- kirkwood and myself expect great things for ivan who is the definition of dedication to thai boxing- therefore it was unfortunate that his opponent was not really up to pushing him last night- we had wanted to bring over a dutch fighter for him as he needs to be more experienced but his time will come as i keep telling him- once again thanks to those that supported the show and thanks to the crowd for creating a good atmosphere esp as we had alot of kids under 10 years old enjoying watching thai for the first time-

there was some carnage tho sandy...think only 1 fight went the distance..unfortunatley it was 2 badco fighters on the recieving end of stoppages....we made up for it on the sunday tho with 3 out of 3.

you are right 5 fights is too few- i like 8 and no more personally- the only thing that saved us was that 90 per cent of the audience came from firewalker and only wanted to watch those fights on and they really enjoyed the night- even the fact thet it finished early!!-
Wainey
Posted: 2008-10-07 11:31:03
sometimes less fights can work in your favour with the crowd being interested still........ i would like to see ivan vs marc sargeant or a rematch with eric decarrier over 5x3\'s ftr

TBH I was glad of the 5-fight set up as I travelled down to Crawley after the show!!!! :)

How many fights had Ivan had now?
He looked very strong against the inexperienced Lithuanian guy.

ivan has had 9 and won them all- eric was his first fight and his most experienced opponent!!??- hopefully paul hennessey can get a strong opponent for nov 30th- ivan is adored by the wolverhampton public because he is very humble and hardworking- he drives me crazy wanting to fight and further himself- he certainly deserves an opponent who will really take him thru the gears at 70kg to 73kg if it is a same day weigh in-

not taking anything away from ivan but the eric he fought at the town hall was a not fully fit eric, ive seen eric fight in the last year and what a difference he was, by no means would it be an easy fight for ivan, a fight worth looking for and im sure eric would happily accept. maybe leigh edlin from chao phraya, contact shaun boland, he would give ivan a great fight also .

A class bout should be day before weighin, does this mean he will be more like 70-71 than 73?

Im not too sure but i think Steve had Ivan matched against Sargey on our June show but for some reason it didnt happen,i told him it would make a good bout.As for Ivan vs Leigh Edlin that would also make a cracking fight,i should know ive been in with both of them.Leighs in thailand in november for 2 weeks but i know he was lookin g to fight full thai rules soon. Its alright for those guys ,kicks round the neck are easy for them to a shortarse like me!!
