Congratulations to Greg Watton (KO) on your win.
Commiserations Richie Gent (Phraya Pichai) - sounded like a close fight and a hell of a battle.

I hope the rest of the team are spurred on for tomorrow. Go and get stuck in ;)

i dont understand how these are classed as amateur tournaments when it is all experienced pro fighters that enter....why dont they do away with the amateur protection, shinny's, headguard etc and just have it as a pro tournament considering thats what all the fighters in it are...im lost!

Sawatdee Khrup!

Excellent news boys! All the hard work is paying off Chock Dee for last fighter!

Hmmm interesting point Marianne..............I am not sure how the criteria runs on this, Ryan Rudkin is part of the selection board so it is best addressed to him via E-mail. However, you get pro Tennis players in the Olympics and that also is supposed to be 'Amateur'

Well done Team England. You've achieved a great deal in a short space of time and sent out the warning shots for the World Championships. Can't wait to see what happens there.

Looking forward to catching up with you all when you return.

Best regards,
Don

Sawatdee Khrup!

This is a great acheivement and congratulations to all the fighters and the team. Bill Judd and Ryan Rudkin have done a tremendous job as have the fighters. As said earlier this is the first outing under the UKMF/IFMA banner and certainly an indication of things to come.

I said some months ago that we are entering a new 'Golden age' in UK Muay Thai (professional and amateur) let's all keep working together to keep our art/sport in the forefront.

"welsh eagle writes: - Full results? Team members names etc?"

England achieved two European gold medals, three European silver medals and one European Bronze medal.

The England team is not one indiviual, it is many, and as a team we stand as one!

Results as above.

I would like to say a massive thanks to Bill Judd (KO) and Nathan Kitchen (TouchGloves) for their outstanding performances during the competition. We couldn't have done it without you.

Also a big thanks to the England crowed who travelled so far to support.

Ryan,
i know the Team did well and individual performances are not as important as the team effort but would be nice to know who went, who won what, what weights etc.

I spoke to Nathan yesterday and he said it was awesome but forgot to ask the results.

Does the IFMA website show the 'league tables' from these games?

Thanks to all the "Foxes" for looking after the team so well. Our two guys Richie Gent and Jack Griffin learned a great deal from the trip. It sounds like you all had a great time as well as trained and fought hard. It seems some good friends have been made, and Latvia sounds like madness!!!

Best regards
Don

Lee I don't know if the IFMA website shows the results table.

30 countries took part, with 239 fighters in all competing.

Sargey6, back here now.. barely alive though.. got a terrible cold.

Su- i appreciate that but it still doesnt change the fact that its not amateur. im not having a dig, i would be quite happy to watch julie fight in whatever type of tourny but none of the fighters (from any of the countries) are amateurs!
