Just found this on news channel

The boxer has been treated at Tameside Hospital in Greater Manchester.

He complained of feeling unwell on Monday and was admitted to hospital on Wednesday morning, sources said.

Doctors have carried out tests on the former light-welterweight champion and think the most likely cause is food poisoning.

They have ruled out swine flu.

Hatton is said not to be seriously ill but he could be kept in hospital for a couple of days as a precaution.

Hatton, 30, was on a theatre tour in Ireland last week and attended a boxing event on Saturday that he was promoting.

Meanwhile, promoter Frank Warren said he would like to see Hatton fight Amir Khan, who faces his maiden world title challenge against Ukrainian Andreas Kotelnik on Saturday.

While 22-year-old Khan and his trainer Freddie Roach have spoken at length about a showdown with Hatton, promoter Warren has kept his cards closer to his chest.

Mr Warren believes Hatton should retire following an emphatic defeat by Manny Pacquiao earlier this year.

But he admitted if the Mancunian does fight on, he would be open to a fight between the two.

Mr Warren said: "Let's see if Amir gets the belt first. But it's a great fight.

"I think personally Ricky Hatton should retire but if he wants to fight, then why not? It's a great fight."

Asked if he would be confident of Khan beating Hatton, Mr Warren added: "I think so, I think he is the man of his time but he's got to get through Kotelnik first. That's the most important thing."

Makes me laugh how fickle people are.

1 year ago Khan was finished after his first round knockout, whereas Ricky was our champ, the man to rule the world who would beat Manny.

The Khan gets a couple of wins against shot and lesser fighters, and Ricky loses against a Hall of Famer.

All of a sudden Khan is seen as a credible Hatton opponent.

How quickly things change. Khan v Hatton would have been laughed out of court a few months ago.

Wasn't impressed with Khan at all, he is still easy to hit and a banger will spark him. Wait and see.

witter v hatton would be a good fight don't think khan deserves a shot at him yet, he's talented but not served his time yet. Agree with phil people are so fickle he was the everyday man's hero losses a fight or two against two of the worlds best £4£'s and he's ok to fight khan? I still think he's ace Hatton looks like a top bloke too, but if you asked me about him fighting again I think the weight he drops for a fight is starting to catch him up! think its affecting him fighting. roach was screaming keep your hands up alot, plus the way he held them so high proves his worry that aside he did well, but a banger will sort out if his ghosts have gone,Hatton i really don,t know what he should do,as for Witter who cares x

Khan would destroy Hatton, no probs.
Khan is chinny but knows how to bob and weave and take the sting out of opponents shots, like he did last week. Hatton lacks footspeed, needs people to stand in front of him, he'll never find Khan.
Kotelnik would have seen off Hatton as well by the way.
Nothing against Ricky just think his times been and gone

Don't think Khan would destroy Hatton at all. The Pacman fight was a huge loss, but i don't think he was mentally there. Going to Mayweather snr proved a bad move. A 100% ricky hatton mentally and physically would destroy Khan....I hope it happens he needs to retire on a win.....

ricky v khan would be a short, explosive fight.
cuts for ricky or goodnight khan off the bombs dropped out of hattons hands.
khan would start all out trying and succeeding in punch speed and work rate, hatton would start all out to take his head off,up against the ropes and rough him up.
both fighters have shown they cannot change from their blueprints very much.
khan is a scared fighter and shows his chin alot and very open at times, ricky cannot stop himself from getting excited and reverting back to the billy graham model he was so successful with.
either way, a great fight but only one winner really,FRANK WARREN.

I think another 12 months with Roach and very few will be able to lay a glove on Khan I was very impressed with his speed and movement, Yes hes got dodgy chin how many times as Khan been KOd ?

Khan has wicked handspeed and movement, could prove problematic for Ricky.

That said, not sure Khan could stay out of trouble for 12 rounds and Hatton has definitely got the power and aggression to have Khan's head off.

It'll be interesting to see how confident Hatton looks in his next fight, regardless who his opponent is, I wonder if he (like Khan) will be afraid of getting hit. Time will tell.

I wouldn't put money on that fight though, could go either way.

khan will have a couple of fights against fighters who cant punch and not strong at the weight, then get sparked by someone cos its on the cards, you just cant buy a good chin and he hasnt got one.

its not the KO that shows khans chin is dodgy is the gettin dropped by smaller light punchers

Christ lads, Hatton lost to Mayweather and Pacman, thats like England losing to Brazil or Italy in the World Cup Final, talking about THE best in the world, no shame or loss to lesser people.

Hatton would destrot Khan quick sharp, get him in the corner, left to body followed up with left to chin, good night my little Bolton warrior.

just watched the khan fight last night and was impressed with him, his footwork was class and generally looked very good, his hand speed would cause problems for hatton definatly but think hatton would be too phicaly strong, would make a good fight
