Best Knockouts
I'm sorry that most of these are K-1:
Aerts VS Jean Claude 1996
Hug VS Satake 1997
Filho VS Merve 1997
Hoost VS Smith 1993
Bernardo VS Aerts 1996

Aerts VS Smith 1993
Hoost VS Roufus 1994
One other one was at WWF Wrestlemania 1999 when Butterbean hit Bart Gunn(?) with one of the most brutal right hands i have ever seen.
Also:
Tyson VS Spinks 1988
I heard LeBanner VS Vassilikos was sick too.
I'll think of more soon.

I liked Sefo vs LeBanner too... Jerome just crumples down from a huge Sefo right... gotta love it!

I'd also add the Grand Prix 98 final of Aerts vs Hug, even though hug was pretty much dead tired from his previous bout. Still a great huge left kick from Aerts. Best in the business!

i pick muhammad ali v. oscar bonavena

bonavena was a rock who had put joe frazier down twice in one round. he had never been knocked out before. ali, not known for his hitting power, promised a knock out in the 9th round. it didn't happen. oscar not only stayed on his feet but he rocked ali that round. in the last round, ali connected with a left hook and flattened bonavena. oscar got up twice only to be sent back twice.

bonevena and george foreman both suffered their only ko losses to the light hitting ali. i chose oscar over george because ali nearly ran out of time on this one.

Andy Hug Vs Rob Van Esdonk K-1 1994. That most be the most powerful KO in the history of the K-1

Jerome Vs Mike Bernardo K-1 Gladiators 2001 (Great to see the big fool Jerome get hit "after" the bell, remember the fight against Pettas!)

Jerome Vs Sefo

Filho Vs Merve

Andy Hug Vs Masaaki Miyamoto

Filho vs Hoost K-1 Revenge! I have the mpeg clip somewhere if anyone is interested...

The most brutal boxing KO I have ever seen is Gatti vs Gamache a couple years back on the undercard of De La Hoya vs nobody on HBO... It was Jr Welter and Gatti steped in the ring supposedly at 160. He hit Gamache with Three shots all of which where KO punches!!!Gamache suffered some type of brian damage and sued the NY athletic commision..He claims Gatti was over weight at the weigh in and they looked the other way!!!!!Do not know the outcome of the litigation!!!

Fields/Ford :-)

I thought the Mosley/Stone KO was pretty brutal. Mosley hit him with some really good flurries that sent Stone reeling. They got in close and Mosley hit him with a stiff uppercut that looked to knock Stone out. As Stone's head popped up from the impact, Mosley was so quick that he hit him with a huge hook that put him down for the count before Stone had a chance to fall down after the uppercut. Now it might not have been a "double" KO, but it sure looked to me like Stone's eyes went empty after the uppercut, and then he was introduced to the canvas with the hook.

The fight went down as a ref stoppage, though, which is no fun.

I was on a boxing forum a few minutes ago and several of them mentioned Ray Mercer - Tommy Morrison.
Any one of Tyson's early KO's are cool.
LeBanner - Filho was horrible.
Some UFC ones are good too(Mo Smith - Conan etc.)
The head kick KO's are awesome, they are my favourites!
Does anyone have video clips?

Hi Sandman & Bryan popejoy.

Ehhheee, do a BIG tattoo on my left arm of Andy Hug, and a homepage in memory of Andy say anything about me being a fan of Andy Hug? LOL....

Yes, I am big fan of Andy!!! I have been a fan of Andy since I started to train Kyokushin karate back in 1985. And I have been so lucky, that I have been trained by Andy Hug back in 1989 and in 1991 on Kyokushin karate summercamps. He is my absolute favorite fighter!! I simply "love" Andy Hug. He is the best fighter ever in the history of Kyokushin and Seido karate & in the K-1.

Theres a couple pics, like this last one and the one with the two black guys just above Mo'(Mo's landed sweet), that I'm a little confused about. Is it just me or is the head cranked sideways needlessly? It looks to me as if the person getting kicked is either going with the kick or shying away.

Maybe its just me and from the pic its hard to tell. I've seen a fair few kicks grase the head though. Not saying it won't do damage but there seems to be alot of head movement. Like this last one, his head is back aswell as sideways...maybe its just the pics and the timing of the photo. Its funny how somethings look in pics sometimes.

Do any of you guys train or know of gyms training to kinda turn with the punch?

This has to be one of the best collection of KO photos posted on the Ax ever. Very fun to look at. Glad Oliver added Leko's 2001 K-1 USA KO over Aerts.

I saw the "Dutch Luberjack" fall in person and it was a devistating meeting between glove and face. Hats off to Leko. Great punching power.

Met Aerts and spoke with him a couple times over the K-1 weekend and have to say he is a super nice guy, always smiling (except at the end of K-1 USA 2001).

I read on another post how Frank Shamrok was a jerk. Not true. He is cordial and easy to talk to. Maybe someone didn't like him celebrating his first Kickoxing victory the way he did. But he won, right.

Someone (again on another thread, but Ax members read all threads right?) also mentioned (in a negative way) the WWF and NHB/UFC guys who showed up at K-1. Why bash them? They came and supported K-1.

I met Chad Bannon a.k.a. "D.O.A." from television's "Battle Dome" and some of his friends. Imposing looking guys, but as nice (in person) as they come. Not a bad thing to say about them and I was with them in situations where there true personalities could come out and they were very cool. I know they were impressed by the K-1 fighters and the K-1 show.

Who cares how someone looks or what sport they come from. At least these guys made the effort to attend and support K-1.

this is a very good point. money is support. its like voting for more shows. as long as nothing criminal is happening or a major disturbance is ruining the show let people pick a side and make some noise.

I'm not sure what or who you are reffering to. As people to come thats great.

I just think wwf presents some of the worst ideals and teaches kids to act negatively and disrespectfully. I think its one of the worst things on TV right now.

What they do takes some skill and stunt work, I'm not denying that. But just take alook around at the kids these days and look at the attitudes. Its not just wwf and there certainly are many more areas and problems.

In terms of those watching, I don't know...flash, bang, big, loud, boobs, lights its what we want I guess. We're developing into a society that wants now and wants more and wants it all faster. Sad really I think.

What goes in comes out to some degree at least if its gone in enough.

Can any of you honestly tell me you think that acting like they do is good? Would you want your kids to act that way?

The kids having kids now are scary enough. When they grow up I think I'm gonna go live in the woods.
