A little thing that helps me is that nerves dont feel good but they are good. esp pre-fight.

Hi, if you are ooop North head to Vinnie, or Richie Cadden too! Its just a miniscule bit of the scope of work we can handle!

NLP is the process of modelling, finding out what works, and replicating it. So if there is something that works in degree level sports science and modules on sports psychology, there probably would be elements in there. But, it may just be the background as to the theory - and not the practice of change, which is a completely different skill...

The sympathetic response is needed for a fight...but only for a fight and can detract from performance the rest of the time for sure.

Feedback lads, feedback! Next article is consistently getting into your best state for a fight - every time!

Can someone tell me how to do the throwing task to engage the left side. Do you cross hands in front of you or just hold hands out? Very interesting article, when I started competing I thought the stress response was needed the week or 2 before fights but i do different in more ways. All good stuff in article and i would think the more rounds your fight is the more and more effective.

Hi Jamie!

Just sit or stand, hold your ball in your left hand, and throw it to the right. Then back again. Hands stay on their respective sides of the body.

But, the ball must pass accross your body. So get your hands as wide as you can...

Thinking about it, what do you need the stress for in the week or two before a fight? It is effective for any length of a fight, and is important to enable you to get into the right state EVERY time for a fight, which is my next article, which should be up in the next couple of days...

Best regards,

Ta Smiler I said that when I was a novice I thought it was good to feel up for it etc on the week or 2 before a bout. When these feeling came in work or any time I thought it was good to keep them. Later on I knew any responses were just a waste of energy and didnt need to check the nerve/anxiety in the approach. thanks again I look forward to next article.
