Kinda curious how much of the community on Ax has embraced MMA.

How many MMA events have actually gone to see live?

i go to a canny few like as we got quite a few mma fighters at our gym. it will never be my preffered choice of fighting but we have to support our guys. the northeast of england has a very good mma scene and i do usually have a mint night at strike and submit which is a great show!

C'mon. I know there are more of you lurking about who have attended MMA events.

I used to attend quite a few, went to alot of the early Cage rage and Cagewarriors shows around 2003 onwards. I still follow the scene, but not attended an event for a while

I have always watched big events live if i can get to them.
And am now attending a lot of smaller events with competitors .
Bit by bit we are turning into ann MMA gym mainly.
We still offer classes and have competitors in thai, kick, k1 and boxing.
But mma is where most of our fighters are heading even if they are currently fighting under other rules. This year so far we have put out 4 thai , 2 boxing, 3 kb or k1 and 5 mma fighters totalling about 25 bouts between them all in total.
Our own shows are always mixed in style.Reflecting the fighters currently available at our gym. They used to be more or less 50/50 thai and kick just a couple of years ago.
Next show looks like being 60-70% MMA.

around 15 or so. I had a perk though in that I helped out with some photography for a friend back in the day for some early shows. I got a freebie for the first UFC many years back in the albert hall.
That said, I'm one who started mainly in kickboxing, went to mma and slid over the Muay Thai so now I have a split passion for both sports.

About 12-15! I watch a lot more on the TV!! You definitely get more steriod abusing meat-heads at MMA events than you do at Muay Thai; just an observation.

Not been to once of the smaller events yet. But been to a UFC in Vegas, Belfast, Birmingham, Manchester(twice) and the 02 arena.

Should go to a smaller one though, since they have them fairly near me and I wanna support local talent.
