rest before fight?

how long do you normally rest your fighters for before a fight? i know some people that train full out untill 3 or 4 days before and others who stop sparring about a week before but train lightly until 2 days before. its trial and error i suppose, just wondered on peoples opinions?

I'd drop off conditioning and high intensity 4 or 5 days before and do light stuff/technique etc for a couple more days.

I would much prefer to go in a hair under trained than a hair over trained.

No high high intensity but very low duration I would do to - say a 2 rep max olympic lift with weights - maybe hard fast explosive (say kicking bag or pads) all out ok but for very short durations - spark the nervous system but not fatiguing body per say etc
