Heinz Fridge Beans?

Heinz- famous for ketchup and (most importantly BEANS)!!!!

How do they "do" make the ones for the fridge? Obviously Canned beans go through a "retort" that takes them through the "botulinum cook process" which kills bacterial spores present in the product. Now a tin can survive the rigorous temperature involved in this, SO how do they do it in a plastic tub which (incidentally) melt at approx 90 degrees centigrade?

What weird shit do they use to preserve it??

Answers please!

Cant they just do the process without them being in the container, then just pour them in?

No Phil, they can't ( i believe). Summat to do with being in tin creates a sealed vacuum free from bacterial activity.

Who would seriously pay the price of these tubs?

Buy beans, use half a can and put the rest in a tupperware tub?

Well that's what I do ;)

(and I must be really bored commenting on beans)

I just leave the left over beans in the can and put it in the fridge. Is that not good?

I think scrambled egg on toast beats beans anyway though.

Phil, I think you'll find that the beans complement that scrammbled egg on toast very well, in fact, its almost a crime to eat such a meal without the beans being at the party!!!

ok, so you put them next to each other then, so one doesn`t take the mount position?

You eat it in a spoons type of way?
