GSP is the most boring fighter i have ever watched in the UFC, yes, he maybe one of the most well-rounded athletes about, but my god he's boring to watch, I think if Nick Diaz takes the fight to GSP he has the chance of winning!
GSP has been in exciting 3 round fights. In 5 rounders he's in there for 25 minutes to do what ever he needs to win. If that's making the fight unexciting/boring to watch, so be it.
If you haven't heard the news, Nick Diaz did a no-show for two press conferences and was booted from the main event slot and replaced with Carlos Condit. Carlos was set to fight BJ Penn on the same card. So that left BJ without an opponent. The next day, UFC offered fight against BJ Penn to Nick Diaz. So we have GSP vs Condit and Nick Diaz vs BJ Penn.
Some people have asked "Why remove him from the event if you're just going to add him again the next day?" It makes sense to me. Diaz loses a title shot and is (I'm sure) going to make less money. The main event slot requires more interaction with the press. I'm just curious what happens in the future if Nick gets close to another title shot. How will they make him appear at press conferences?
Think he was right to do it (dana) it teaches him that whatever he is doing in the octagon right! that he needs to do it in the run up to the fight right! i.e. play the game like dana told him ages ago. Pulling him out the title fight was just to show him who pulls the strings in the business. Think Danas got that business held together so well, hence why its going from strength to strength
