Well, it ended controversy (in two forms, the fight ending and Mayweather's post-fight interview).

I don't know how long this clip will stay up, but here is what happened.

In case the video clip is removed, in round 4 of the fight, Ortiz lands a right hook and had Mayweather going backward against the ropes. Then Ortiz lets out a flurry and throws in an attempted headbutt for good measure. It didn't look like the headbutt landed, but he was deducted 1 point for it. Ortiz looked immediately apologetic. Then they restart the match and Ortiz gives Mayweather a hug. After the hug, Ortiz is still standing there with his hands down I guess talking to Mayweather as if the fight didn't start -- but it did. Then Mayweather blasts him with a left hook and then a right hand and KOs him.

After the match, Larry Merchant interviews Mayweather and he goes off on Larry Merchant telling him that he doesn't know anything about boxing. Then Larry tells him "I wish I were 50 years younger and I would kick your ass!"

Here is that clip.

that was the best 15 quid ive spent in ages it had everything. Mayweather just gets better and better making world class boxers look like novices cant believe how good he is. The larry merchant mayweather interview was a classic. Best of all tho was amir khan in the studio amir khan "he defo is there to hit ive seen weaknesses in his defence" duke mackenzie "where?" lol. you gotta love khan at times. when the pundits take an hour trying to work out a way you can beat mayweather that usually means he cant be beaten

When will he fight Pacman so he can shut him up. Personally I think what he did was out of order both the punches & the interview, not becoming of "the greatest ever" just another reason he's not.......... Damm, i'll see watch his next fight though! lol

I'm hearing that Floyd got away with a sneaky elbow which Ortiz responded to with that headbutt attempt. There was a youtube video put up, but it was taken down.

Interestingly, I found an article posted the day before the event where Ortiz's trainer showed concern about Mayweather sneaking in elbows.

I thought that about an elbow when I 1st saw it but Garcia was talking about it on 24/7 ep2 or 3.

I still dont see a clear "Box" command?

Mayweather clearly looks over to see that Joe isnt looking before he throws the hook.

Hmm...in this animated gif, I don't see any elbows before the headbutt. I dunno.

Did anyone else notice the count? The ref at the table started joe Cortez on a five count aswel from the minute Ortiz hit the floor. He had no chance of making tht count

we wouldnt be talking about PBF if cortez did the right thing and disqualify ortiz for the headbutt....it was a disgrace.

It looked like the headbutt didn't actually land.

As anybody acctualy looked at the head butt, it wasnt an accident, he wanted to do damge with it... good on Mayweather for the ko and i think he will fight pacman and khan next year and dame the both of them xx

2 wrongs dont make a right, Ortiz had his point deduction, Floyd got away with his uppercut elbow, the butt didnt hurt him...... be a man.
He wont fight Pacman, if fact its quite funny to hear him talk about Pacman not wanting to fight Money when he was in HIS prime..... Damm, takes one to know in that case!

fight was offered to pacman 3 or 4 times, they made all the excuses in the world to avoid it not mayweather... it will happen, it will be agreed after pacman has another close war of a fight with marquez lol

Mayweather's camp is the one that stopped that fight from happening with the extra requirements for Olympic style drug testing. Mayweather could make that fight happen today. He should just take the fight without adding on extra requirements.

pacs team agreed to it a few times but kept changing their minds as to why he wouldnt have the test, the last reason was pacman is scared of needles lol... oh and crippler there aint no elbow there, he had no chance of beating him so he wanted to fight dirty

There was a sneaky uppercut elbow but it's disguised fairly well by Mayweather. That don't make the headbutt ok, it was a disgrace.

Pacman should just agree to take the test after he beats Marquez for the fans sake. Mayweather should put his legacy aside for the fans sake and agree. Fans pay their wages at the end of the day.

If this fight fails to ever happen they can both f**k off.
