Why would Mayweather be scared of a guy that met his match in Marquez over 3 bouts and Mayweather breezed through the fight with Marquez after a 18month lay-off. Mayweather offered 40m to Pacquio and Michael Kanz (Pacquio's advisers) went to Vegas to finalise the deal then pulled out at the last minute. Bob Arum probably said no. Most people can't see it but Cotto V Mayweather is a better fight.

there was a survey private one asking if you could take an undetected drug and win a gold medal yet you'd lose 10 years off your life would you still take it 75% said they would (read it ages ago and it's atheletics) it's the competitive element in them that drives them in any sport it's a sad alas part of our modern day society and I don't know if pacman has or hasn't taken it and I believe it's still holding out for bigger payday and it may never happen anyway x

The mayweather and pacman fight was about money, but not about the 50/50 split. They both agreed a 50/50 split, but what coudn't be agreed was the venue. Mayweather was committed to Vegas, which would see a 40 million pound fight, split 50/50 that 20 million each. Pacman however (and promotional team) wanted the fight at the new american football stadium, which has a capacity of 150,000 people. The revenue generated from fighting at the new stadium would have been 60million, therefore the split would have been 30million each. Pacman and co were trying to push the fight out by 1 month to gain an additional 10 million each, which makes perfect business sense. Don't forget, boxing is a business, regardless of what the punters want to see in terms of fights, its all about the bottom line. The olypmic style tests will be done and agreed to when the fight is made, later this year. Providing both get through there next fights.

In terms of the comment made about how Pacman can now take a punch from a heavier man when before he couldn't from a light man, this has no tangible evidence suggesting he's on drugs to achieve this. Good/improved conditioning and putting on weight the correct way will actually assist in his punch resistance. If he cut too much weight when fighting lighter, this could have contributed to him being dropped in the past as the resistance wouldn;t have been there. Ive had my bell rang a fair few times at a light weight, but when boxing at light welter/welter i can handle the power better and haven't felt the effects of a big shot so much.

Mayweather had already booked MGM grand, if it was about the venue they should agree to fight after this 1.. why would he agree to take the test then less than a week later say he's afraid of needles haha come on, fighters that come up weight with the greatest conditioning coaches and trainers on the planet very rarely dominate with power, infact i cant remember any doing that.

Don't forget that Mayweather did book that date Cinco de mayo(May 5th) purposely with the intention of signing a latino fighter and not Pacquiao. Why else would you pick that date? Money of course.
I don't think he wants the fight with Pacquiao and I can't see it happening. I don't think he's scared of him but he's scared of losing.

There's more of a chance that Sergio Martinez will fight him in November. He's willing to drop to 154lbs and do 80-20 split.
If Mayweather doesn't take an 80-20 split then we know he's ducking him.
It's a shame Paul williams hasn't pushed more the fight with Mayweather either. I can see him beating Mayweather with his long range jab. It would be a dull fight but he could pull it off.

With paul williams low guard and come forward style it would look like a diego corrales fight and mayweather would pick him off very easily, now martinez sparked williams, martinez would be a much better fight and another win for mayweather :-)

Paul Williams is a lot taller than Diego Corrales and would be able to keep a longer distance. Williams also has a lot more power than Corrales. (RIP Corrales)

Martinez would be a good fight with Mayweather but I'd also like to see a 3rd fight between Martinez and Williams.

williams will get knocked out again in his career with the same shot that martinez nailed him with, williams has the same mentality that pavlik had under lowe...i.e they've only lost 1-2 fights, why change what's worked for all the wins, problem is the losses highlighted flaws that need fixed

wiliams was getting caught with the same shot by lara all night and the fact he got the win was dubious to say the least, if lara had more pop williams would have been sparked

kirland williams would be a good fight as both are vulnerable, see that as an exciting fight, styles make fights, i think canelo would eat williams up

i don't see anything special about williams tbh, he's no tommy hearns and the only thing that was to pw's advantage was his height..which i think actually plays against him, the blueprints there from martinez, let williams give up his reach as he doesn't fight tall and then take his head off as he leaves his chin in the air and his hands too low

i think kirkland williams would be an interesting fight though, maybe a case of a beats b, b beats c, c beats a, as ishida is a common opponent
