Are you a K-1, ( Oriental Style Rules ), Amateur fighter?

Do you regularly enter 'Inter-Club Sparring-Days' and would like to step up to the next level, competing with full-contact K.O. strikes allowed and for Championship Titles under Amateur ( Padded ) criteria?

If so, then A.K.A. events could be ideal for you!

A.K.A. Grandprix Tournament bouts are 3 rounds in duration, in the event of a draw, an extra round is required. Bouts are contested using the O.S.R. ( Oriental Style Rules ) format, ( also known as K-1 style rules ), under A.K.A. regulations and scoring criteria.

The titles for championships are co-sanctioned through the I.K.F. with Bronze, Silver and Gold medals. Division winners also have the option of an official title belt.

All are welcome to enter the A.K.A. Championships and test themselves under Amateur K-1 / 'Oriental Style Rules' should they meet the criteria.

ENTRY FOR THE 2012 CHAMPIONSHIPS - Opens 29/10/2012

EVEN NUMBER SEEDING.

'Even-Number-Seeding' is being used for the 2012 event. This means that a minimum of 2 entries, upto a maximum of 8 entries are required to contest a 2012 Championship title.

'Even-Number-Seeding' means Championships will either have...

8 Entries - Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, Final. ( 3 Bouts )

4 Entries - Q.F. = Walkover ( No Bouts ). Semi-Finals, Final, ( 2 Bouts )

2 Entries - Q.F. = Walkover ( No Bouts ). S.F. = Walkover ( No Bouts ), Final, ( 1 Bout )

Odd number of entries will not be matched.

If you are the third entry into a division and if no other competitors enter, as the division already has 2 entries, ( an even amount ), the first two entries will be seeded into the final. As later entries into the division may not be able to compete due to 'Even-Number-Seeding', they maybe offered a position in the next division up ( heavier division ) .

If you are the fifth, sixth, or seventh entry into a division and if no other competitors enter, as the division already has 4 entries, ( an even amount ), the first four entries will be seeded into the Semi-finals. As later entries into the division may not be able to compete due to 'Even-Number-Seeding', they maybe offered a position in the next division up ( heavier division ).

This looks set to be a great event. Surpassing the 2010 and 2011 Tournament Championships.

Just like the A.B.A. finals in Boxing. Elimination bouts through the day...Championship bouts in the evening.

I am still looking to match two ladies though, as I really do not want to let anyone down.

One at 65 Kgs max.
The other at 70 Kgs max.

Please text me if you have any questions or if you have anyone.

Thanks,

A big thankyou to all of the teams that supported this event and all of those that worked so hard to bring together such a great championships. This was the third year running that we have put together an end of year, I.K.F. Amateur tournament Championships and all of out expectations were surpassed.

The whole day went very smoothly, with an early start for the elimination bouts followed by Championship bouts from 6.00pm - 10.00pm.

Some of the young guns really put a lot into the Amateur code, and as well as some very technical bouts - there were quite a few battles that were purely about fighting spirit, grit and determination.

Well done everyone, and hope to see you at next years Amateur Tournament Championships - November 2013.

Photo's and results of the finals to follow.
