The road to The Main Event - November 21st 2015

We are pleased to confirm the date for our second 'Road to The Main Event' show, which will take place, once again, at the prestigious Village Hotel in Ashton-Under-Lyne, Manchester, on November 21st.

The card will feature a handful of established A and B class bouts and numerous up and coming fighters from around the country, with some of those who impress being given the opportunity to feature on future The Main Event shows.

The first in this series was a huge success and we anticipate this second instalment to be even better.

The first of our A class fights on the upcoming Road to The Main Event show is:

Andrew Lofthouse (Team ‪#‎OO‬) vs Matty Maguire (Hanuman)

Lofthouse returns looking to get back to winning ways after a loss to Chris Whittle last month. Never in a dull fight, his unorthodox style makes him a handful for any opponent and guarantees fireworks for the crowd! Maguire impressed en route to a stoppage victory over Shane Farquharson last month and will fight again in September before his bid to enter the UK top ten on this show in November. A come-forward, technical operator, Maguire has the tools to cause upsets in the lightweight division and is hoping 2015 will be the start of something special.

Ten weeks to go until the second in our 'Road to' series and we are pleased to release the second headlining fight:

67kg A Class - Mark Skeer (Salford Thai) vs Jack Battershell (Shinkick, Woking)

Fan favourite Skeer makes his comeback in his hometown after a while away from the ring, when he will take on emerging talent Battershell from the Shinkick camp. Former top ten ranked fighter Skeer is renowned for his strong, aggressive fighting style and counts Charlie Peters and Ben Lucas among his scalps.
Never in a boring fight, he is keen to get back to winning ways after a loss on The Main Event last year, and will be even more motivated to win with his strong following in Manchester watching.

Battershell is a talented young fighter who is keen to announce himself onto the big stage. He comes into this fight off the back off a points win over a Norwegian opponent earlier this year and is high on confidence. A technical operator eager to impress, he poses a genuine threat to Skeer and both will have to be at their very best to get the win.

We're pleased to announce this exciting A class female addition to the Road to The Main Event card:

Leonie Hardman (Supergym, Knutsford) vs Sofia Christodoulou (Team ‪#‎OO‬, Bolton)

Ranked #4 and #5 respectively, these two fighters are keen to finish the year on a high with a win on November 21st.
Leonie is looking to build on her recent win over a foreign opponent on her home show, while Sofia aims to get back to winning ways after dropping a close points decision to Sanne Strabbing in the Summer. Both have shared the ring with some of the UKs best and both are targeting the top spots in the flyweight division - A win here could well set up those kind of opportunities.

51kg B Class - Dakota Ditcheva (Northern Spirit, Sale) vs Esma Hasshass (Holland)
Rising female star Dakota Ditcheva, one of the brightest young prospects to emerge from the UK in recent years, takes on an equally talented Dutch fighter in one of the supporting bouts on The road to The Main Event. Ditcheva is hot property in England, having dispatched almost all of her domestic rivals in the space of 18 months, climbing to number 2 in the UK rankings in the process. Still only 17 years of age, she is widely regarded as an athlete with a huge future ahead.
Her opponent on 21st November is one of Holland’s many bright young talents who, also only 17 years of age, has almost 20 fights experience under her belt. Fighting in England for the first time, she is intent on putting on a performance.
