So.. Theres been a few big shows now , how further forward are they taking it? Are tv deals been negotiated? Influential people been invited , investors who can take it to a wider market?
I hope so, it would be a real shame to see these big shows in 2 years time still only inviting ticket sellers to fight on their shows.

The UK is so far behind in the televised kickboxing scene. Why is it that Eurosport and others, can screen events to so many millions of homes throughout Europe, yet not the UK? I thought Amir's Superfight Series was a great event. I'd love to see it picked up by a TV channel, even if it was a non-UK channel, at least the brand would be getting known internationally.

But good question - who can take it forward?

On a related topic - is Glory struggling? Overeem mentioned it.
Also, where's the LEGEND events gone? GFC? K-1? Never really been a fan of Enfusion but it's good to see they've relented and went more along the 'K-1 style' route and dropped the throws/sweeps.

Makes sense doesn't it, the promoters putting massive pressure on the gyms and fighters to sell tickets when in my eyes the brand should be the ones able to sell the tickets, a bit like Mars expecting all their workers to sell mars bars to friends and family , if they don't get the sales they get fired. It's not the way to do it.
Fair enough in the start to build a good brand, BUT there have been a lot of these shows now and they don't really seem to be any further forward.

I was watching 'spike' tv channel the other day showing the live under card of the boxing with hughey fury on and made me think

I know some shows have had tv exposure so I know it can be done, but imagine yokkao live on tv.
Not only would it grow the brand massively it would promote thai to a massive audience, average joe public would want to buy tickets , less pressure on the gyms and fighters and bigger pay days which means fewer pull outs too
Win win

Are tv companies really not interested in showing such great events?

It's a long long story. It's possible to get into foreign channels but UK not really a chance. I had my Enfusion show on UK TV on boxnation live but was a one off deal. To try get Muaythai on UKTV live is virtually impossible. facts are it doesn't sell due to ram Muay , music , scoring , slow start and why fights accept defeat on some bouts at the end of round 5 and conceed defeat (sometimes) - I've heard this from top people in TV. You can get it on lower sports channels but not live.

Thanks for that kieren :) it's interesting for the community to understand where we stand with it.
And if we were to remove ram Muay and music would it make a difference or is it really all on the scoring?
