Creating a Show

Hi guys. I am just wondering how much the cost of runnin a show varies between mma and k1 on a show to just having k1 in a ring.

I have never been involved in running a show as of yet, but I am interested in creating one if I can pull it off to have all the money possible donate to macmillan cancer support.

I have a few companies in mind to see if they would sponsor the cost of various things so there is not a need to have financial money in the bank, and have fight of night bonuses etc availible. Do you think venues such as nightclubs ( I have worked on the door of quite a few) would have the event there for free as they would have be selling drinks all night and have a after party admission on the tickets?

Just looking for any advice i can get from you experienced guys as would love to do it, I dont think match making would be an issue. Its just everything else such as would refs, medics, do it for charity.

Thanks for any input

Well, everybody has to start somewhere and in the first few events I'd advise to;

Keep costs down and use a social club. They're struggling on the whole, and tneir beer's cheap. You may some additional sponsorship to the tune of the cost of a singer they may book.

Keep the standard of fighters to amateurs or novice pro. Pro's want paid.

You could put an amateur show on in a social club for around £2500. A pro show, I'd say from £5k upwards. Totally dependant on level of fighters.

Never scrimp on medical staff or security.

Use a governing body.
