hi sandy !! yes,gilbert yvel is training by lucien carbin,he's a member of the golden glory team.lucien is also the trainer of ilonka elmont.lucien was a great fighter and now he have a lot of succes with gilbert yvel and ilonka elmont!! have you ever seen him fight in the good old days ?

YEP lUCIEN IS A BIT OF AN OLD LEGEND WAY BACK OVER HERE IN THE 80'S ! HE BEAT RONNIE GREEN 4 X WORLD CHAMPION FROM eNGLAND WAY BACK ! IN `2` ROUNDS AND ONE OF OUR ONLY C/B CLASS FIGHTERS FROM OUR / MY LAST STABLE MASTER SKENS sitnarong camp manchester ! faired a little better and lasted 4 rounds !
But i remember coming to holland a few times in the 80's to watch all the greats !! Carbin, Milo elgrubi, Tekin Donmez ( who i ended up beating for his W.M.T.A European superfeatherweight Title and gave me the toughest fight in my 21 fight carear ! )
Also of course Robbie Kaman, Andre Brilleman, Tommy vandem berg, etc: etc: etc: saw / watched them all live !
Also my ( now world champion ) ladies flyweight lady fighter JUSSY LOWE last year fought ILLONKA ELMONT too in a 5 round late replacement fight non title ! JUSSY lost by a split decission !! ILLONKA i rate too

hi dirk,

lucien was also a kyokushinkai champ as far as ı remember..then switched to kb (mejiro gym) under jan plas...then ,fought against many japanese first (ı cannot remember the name of the famous japanese kickboxer whom he had beaten and got also his fame internationaly, 1982's or 1984's)...then he fought also some thais...if ı am not mistaken the first gym of him was called "sidyothong"?!..

he was a very very good fighter (once upon a time an idol for many people) and ı think he is also an efficient trainer benefiting his fight experience in his training routine,as well...
