Topic:Joeri Mes - The Next Ramon Dekker?
Barry OSullivan

Has anyone seen the dutch light-heavyweight joeri mes in action? He is undefeated and a lot of people are tipping him to be the next ramon dekker!
Anyone agree?

Barrie,

I saw him beat Winston Fraser at The Equinox and he certainly looked pretty good there. We all know Winston Fraser is a top fighter and Joeri Mas didn't take a great deal of time in dispatching Winston and he did it in some style.

Did you enjoy the gym show on Sunday ?

Joeri Mes (Mikes Gym, Holland) is a tazmanian devil with Gloves! He has now beaten Winston twice, first time it took him 2 rounds then recently it took him under a round and he is only about 23 years old! He HAS lost before, but that was years ago, under 'padded rules' with head, body and shin guards. But he has since fought that same opponent twice and knocked him out both times (and these K/O's are something to watch). He has stopped 90% of his opponents with some fantastic K/O's and awesome displays of brute force and power. His only downfall is he is slightly on the short side, but he is one hell of a fighter and loves the pain. If you get a chance to watch him - do not refuse the chance. I tip him for bigh things!

His last fight was against Donald Brenner of Mejiro Gym.
Very good fight with Mes taking it on points.
He is a very strong fighter who always moves forward.

Joere is one of the best fighters I have seen for a long time, he has fought twice on Alan Keddle and Sean Toomey's shows, and he is awesome. He has power in both hands, and loves a left hook to the body followed by right hook to the head. He also is excellent at knees to the head and low kick. He is still very young at 21 years old, and I predict he will beat Ryan Simpson and go on to be a legend in Thai boxing,

Dirk,

Thanks for the info, as you can see he has some good support on the UK shores and I would love to see him fight again. Ryan Simpson (apologies -Dutch spelling not good) against Joere would be a fight not to miss.

Andy - I believe that Joere can fight anything between 75 and 78 kg. The photo's don't pay him that much justice, but when you see him in the flesh his ring presence is awesome. A couple of our guys from our Gym went out to Holland to train at his gym and they hung around and trained with him for a couple of days, and apparently he is a nice guy as well. He also has a brother that fights at 70kg.

Sean,

I saw him at your/your brothers show at the Equinox and he was awesome then ! I thought Joeri was about 80kg and Ryan Simpson fought at around 72. Though After what you told me I imagine they'll fight at around 75. I would love to see that fight, I'm sure it will be explosive !

Hi Andy,

I'm Shaun (Alan and Kieran's brother) my brother (Alan) promotes his shows with Sean Toomey ( a good friend of ours). Just to clear up the confusion 'cos a lot of people get us mixed up!

Oh yeah, and Sean is not as half as good looking as me!!!!! :)

Hello everyone

I wonder whether the fight will be full Muay Thai? if it is i predict a Rayen Simpson victory - otherwise it will be very close.
Joerie is an awesome fighter no doubt but no way the next Dekker reason being is that Joerie is to big to fight the best Thais in the world unlike Dekker plus i doubt whether he will have 200 plus fights as well.
But poss the next Kaman????

Hey guys!!
maybe it was taking it a bit far saying he will be the next dekker as kieran said, there are hardly any thais at his weight and to be the best in the world, you have to beat the best in the world!! right?? i have heard of rob kaman but i don't know much about him so if anyone can tell me a bit of info that would be great!!
