14th April Aberdeen Muaythai Show
Hey there is anyone on here going to the Muaythai show in Aberdeen on the 14th April?? It is being held in the Aberdeen Treetop Hilton Hotel, its on a Sunday night & it should be a really good show. Its also being filmed for SKY Sports.
There are only around 6 or 7 fights i think but they will all be excellent bouts!!
5 guys from the Fighting Fit Gym in Kirkcaldy are all taking part.
Jamie Henderson (FFG) V Cant remember!!
Mark Grainger (FFG) V Alex Sneddon
Paul Shaw (FFG) V Ally Smith (Title Fight)
James Jarvie (FFG) V Cant remember!!
&
The big fight of the night will be a WMC Intercontiental Title Fight between:-
James Graham (FFG) V Some dude from Hong Kong, cant remember his name.
All these fights will be quailty, as are all the lads from the FFG!!
Wouldn't have minded seeing how Alex Sneddon is progressing.
i was gonna go, but found out the bus going from Glasgow is full :-(
Cath McIver from New Zealand is going!!!!
(i'm still working on alternative transport, but v. unlikely)
Is it SMF titles??
Paul Shaw and Ally Smith faught, (i think) in Johnstone last year.
PS is the guy with the vast tribal tattoo over his neck and shoulders yeah??
Who is Sneddon fighting for??
I'd like to see james graham fight.
If i don't make it,
PLEASE
please let me know how it goes,
toots
Yeah Paul is the guy with the "Blade" tattoo & yeah it was him that faught at the Johnstone show. He was not well then, not making excuses like but he lost 4Kg in 2 days to get to the wieght limit for that fight & had a bad asthma attack the night before but this time he has had longer to get ready & he will do the job this time. We hope!!!
Not sure if it is SMF titles that are up but i know Paul V Ally is a rematch from the Johnstone show for Ally's title. As for Sneddon dont know who he is fighting for....sorry!!!
Yeah James fight should be a good one aswell its for the WMC Intercontiental Title.
For sure i will let you know how the show goes!!!
Also Jamie Henderson is fighting against Paul Laverty at that show. Couldnt remember the boys name for my first post. Sorry !!
Any yopu guys going ? to John Craigs show ?? the night b4 ??? in LINWOOD sports centre ??
i will be there doing some judging !! please come and say hello if your there ??

is James Jarvie the guy that got hit in the nuts 4 times in Hamilton??
Have you seen my photos from Hamilton/johnstoneand Kirkaldy??
Do you know if Leigh Connway has been Bahaving???
A few of the girls at Sit Ayuthaya wanna fight her.
Angela Totten retired, and we need to get Leigh back for her :-P
(leigh seemed really nice btw)
Yeah Jarvie was the guy that had the "balls of steel" as you put it on your site .......lol, He is fighting McCarthy's instructor at Aberdeen, cant remember the guys name though...sorry!!
Yeah seen the photos from the shows, really good pics, especially that good looking guy that faught Chris Craig at Kirkcaldy..WOW!!!!!!.....lol
I should start going up to the ring apron as all my photos turn out rubbish...lol
Well Leigh hasn't been training for ages as she is really busy working, but she is hoping to get back to it as soon as she has finished planning an event she is organising for her work.
Yeah Leigh is really nice, great person to talk to & have a laugh with. I aint seen her in a couple of months but i will see her on Saturday, so i will tell her that she has a few girls wanting to fight her.
Is that the same gym that "Loopy Lou" fights from?? She's nice!!!......lol
Hey Sandy, nah i wont be going to John Craig's show on the Saturday as we are going up to Aberdeen on the Saturday & staying over night for the Sunday show, behaving ourselves off course!!........lol
Paul has got even more done to his "Blade" tattoo than he ha done the last time at Johnstone by the way Toots!!.........lol
LOOKING FORWARD TO ABERDEEN SHOW SOME REALLY GOOD MACHES.BUT IS JAMIE HENDERSON NOT FIGHTING MARK KIMBERLY
Yeah, "Loopy Lou" is from our camp.
Star of our camp at the moment actually having a 4 fightrs 4 wins record, not bad for 15 year old.
She should be fighting again after her exams (and was wanting Leigh!!)
She is a great lass. SO dedicated, it's embarrassing getting a kid tellin me to keep pushing harder!!
I hope yous have a good time at Aberdeen.
If i make it you'll see me ringside, come say hi :-)
Hey there Chuck, yeah he was meant to be fighting Mark, but somethings changed so now he is fighting Paul Laverty, dont know the circmstances of the swap around or that, sorry !! Tell you what though when i see him the moro i'll ask him to make sure incase i misheard him & he was taking about another show, but i am sure that it has changed to Laverty!!
Yeah off course Toots if your there, i'll come across & say hi :-)
I have seen 'Lou' fight twice now, at Hamilton & Cowdenbeath, she was really impressive at Cowdenbeath!!
Has she fought without all the pads before??, As the two times i have seen her fight she has had some sort of padding on. I'll tell Leigh about it, you never know she may want to after she gets back into the training!!
15!! damn!! to young for me to go after then!! ;-) .......lol
Hey Chuck,
Was speaking with Jamie tonight & you are right it is Mark Kimberley he is fighting on Sunday night. But at one stage it had swapped to being Paul Laverty for some reason. Sorry for the wrong info!!
Well,
it seems that cinderella is going to the ball after all.
Well, maybe no, but I am going to Aberdeen :-) YEAH
Though i haven't told/asked tommy yet, so i hope he doesn't mind too much.
Muaythai King,
what's your real name.
I bet i know you really
Phil Grogan???
Anywho, Lou is 16 next month, so she'll soon be legal,
and if anybody was going to ask her out, i'd rather it was a muaythai guy, than some local ned.
Speak nice i might even put a good word in for ya :-P
Speaking of too young, what age is mark Kimberely??
I think he is terrified of me cause i mentioned that he's kindda cute.
I get great fun chasing him with my camera,
it's the cheek bones i can't help it!!!oh and the long eyelashes.
Yeah, Loopy has only done amateur so far,
the fight against Angela was pro/am i think,
but she is wanting to do pro rules soon, i think.

ah, the clue is in the text
that good looking guy that faught Chris Craig at Kirkcaldy..WOW!!!!!!.....lol
this is either you or it's not just loopy you fancy.

i'll get killed for this, but here is a wee traet for you.
Loopy after her readybreak
Phil!!!!!
Yeah right cheers!!......lol, Maybe if i put on a few Kilos then possibly.......lol
Well since you've found the pic then you will know my name now!!....lol
I am going up on the Saturday afternoon with the guys for their weigh in & that & just staying at the hotel, you were getting a great deal...£30 for the night with your brekkie in the morning, so just thought i might as well make a weekend of it......lol
Ermm...dont know how old Mark Kimberley is, i havent met the guy before, nor had i heard of him till i found out he was up against Jamie. I heard though that he is meant to be quite good, so it will be a good challenge for Jamie. Jamie has only lost once & that was at Lochgelly against Notini, but then again how do you fight against a guy that just charges at you, but Jamie will definatley rectifiy that when they have a rematch at the Johnstone show at the end of the month.
I thought that Lou was great against Angela, i thought beforehand even though i was wanting Lou to win that Angela would be too good for her but boy was i wrong!!! Definatley something for the future, just wish now that i took it up years ago.
Well since you are going to Aberdeen will you send me some photos that you take of the fighters from Fighting Fit?? If you can that'll be great!! :-)
Thanks in advance, if i see you there i will even buy you a drink. Even though that hotel is extortionate for drink!!!! The last time we were there, in June last year it was abit pricey, had to extend the overdraft for to buy a round .......lol
Well hope you see you there,
Byeeeee
yeah, i too thought AG would outclass loopy.
And was delighted to hear she won.
Apparently it was a clearly decisive victory too.
I have great hopes for lou.
Did you see her ram muay at hamilton, i was in stitches!!
That was actually the first amateur event i saw.
and when i met stevie and the sit ayuthaya crew.
Speaking of sending photos,
i sent a whole catalogue to james graham and never heard if he wanted any :-(
from the Kirkauldy show.
Unfortunately, cause i use didgital, getting prints is expensive,
but i can burn cd's no bother too, which are great if you have the right viewing softwear
I'll hold you to that drink btw.
James Notini, now there's a fighterl.
Absolutely no style or panache, just brute force.
Scariuly like too many of us scottish fighters!
Hey, what happened to JP at Duncan's show.
Was it Kevin Dunnit who never showed up?
I'd thought kev was supposed to be fighting Norrie??
Anywho, have a good time in Aberdeen,
I think we're leaving Glasgow at 4, so wil see yous about 7 then i reckon??
see ya,
Toots
so did you enjoy the show??
I was well impressed with all the fighters
i take back everything bad i've said about scottish fighters, these guys were fab!
btw,
me no send photos as me no get drink :-P
Hey Toots
Yeah thought the show was ace.
The performance from our guys was great, James, Mark, Jamie, James G & Paul done excellent & it was just a pity that Mark & Paul lost on points. :-(
What about James Graham's performance?
Those elbows were sweet, the Chinese boys face was a bit of a mess at the end of it all....dont ya think?
Alex Sneddon's kicks look awesome....eh?
Sorry about you not getting a drink, didnt see you at the ringside, coz we ended up quite far back, where you at the ringside? Did they let you take pics?
Well to make up for it i will see you right with a drink at the Johnstone show later on in the month if you are going to it!! OK? :-)
I was just wanting you to send a few over the email if that was possible, didnt want you to go to the bother of getting prints. Sorry, didnt know about you sending prints to James from the KDY show & that. Are they just the same ones that are on ukmuaythai.com ?? If you cant send them via email then just burn them on a CD as JPEGS if you like. :-)
The guy that JP was meant to be fighting at Duncan's show pulled out coz seemingly his girlfriend said "pick me or the Muaythai", silly guy picked the girl.......lol Was probally a good idea as i wouldnt fancy takin on JP, i have enough just sparring with him .......lol
Hey i dont fight like that!!
But i suppose the Jim does what he needs to do, if he thinks thats his best option for attack then i suppose he is well entitled to do what he does. The thing is though you aint meant to hook your arms around the lower spine OR hook their legs but he keeps on getting away with it.
Did you go to the after show party? We just went down the road after the event, we stayed up on the Saturday night so the funds were starting to run dry, especially buying drink inthat hotel all the night before .........lol
Anyway, speak later
Byeeeeee
MUAYTHAI KING WAS AT THE SHOW SOME FIRST CLASS FIGHTS LAST FIGHT WAS A BUTE SOMES CRAKIN ELBOWS.ONE OF THE BEST ENTRINSES SEEN IN ALONG TIME.CAN ALEX SNEDON KICK OR WHAT HOW SORE ARE MARKS ARMS
Tell you the truth the 'Braveheart' entrance was a bit cheesy you not think, a good laugh like. James wasnt too keen on it though......lol
Well Mark drove all the way home last night so i think he was ok, he was just a bit pissed off at his performance. There was no training tonight so i dont know if he is feeling it a bit today or not. But that Alex had some whack in those kicks anyway.
I thought the show was great :-)
And anyone slagging Guy R in his kilt will have ME chasing them with a claymore!!
(if i could lift one, Grabbi Grabbong is good for little people :-P)
Yes, some sharp elbows from James, excellent stuff.
Alex Sneddons kicks were amazing
(and i was wrong-as per usual- about him ever having been JC's)
Yes i got photos (a mere 400 for this one)
and yes i got ringside. as i'm "official press" LOL
But i suppose the Jim does what he needs to do, if he thinks thats his best option for attack then i suppose he is well entitled to do what he does. The thing is though you aint meant to hook your arms around the lower spine OR hook their legs but he keeps on getting away with it.
I think as with most rules and reg's, it depends what the sanctioning body is as to wether you can hook legs/ wrap round back.
Some have you allowed to hook legs, but only for a wee short minute.
I think some allow you to put your arms low in the clinch, so long as you don't try lifting/throwing that way as it is really bad for the back.
With folk as wee as tiny notini, who are they meant to get there arms round their opponents neck????
(i have a similar problem, as i am too heavy for my height, so all opponents my weight are much bigger)
I think Jim Notini is great, so much heart, and never stops just keeps going in no matter what.
Here,
you wanna see a photo of the ring girls arse??
what were those dolly birds all about??
YUCK
(i'm not into girls like, but those barbie's were repulsive!)
I think i will be at the show on the 27th, if i ask the promoters nicely enough :-)
It's my brothers 30th birthday that day, but some things are more important than birthdays (except MY birthday of course!)
Plus i wanna go to Leeds on the 28th, but i'll make special effort to arrange it if it's possible.
The Scots fighters are far better than i thought,
i guess i'd only seen novice and c fighters to date,
Aberdeen was a real eye opener for me.
Oh, and i never sent real prints to James, just thumbnails, and i do not know if they ever arrived???
I'm trying to work out a system of selling my photo's but being and airhead i can't work it so it is cheap quick and quality?? :-(
(the fact 1/2 my pics are shite doesn't help much!)
I see what you mean about height being a disadvantage, coz there aint alot of people out there smaller in height than me.....lol
But i was meaning that he hooks there legs & puts all his weight on top so as to fall on top of you, doing that can atleast put someones back out if not break it, thats why they are trying to stop fighters doing that coz seemingly there have been a few incidents where people have went away with seriousley damaged backs.
Coz at the Aberdeen show the ref was watching fighters for that & a couple of times he was telling them to keep their arms up as high as possible.
Yeah, the english fighters are usually really technical compared to the Scots fighters but that changing alot now. Our gym teaches alot about countering. Anyone really can throw a whole load of punches but do much of them land on the target?
Yeah english tourneys are reall good usually, have you ever been to Mike Duffy's show in Oldham? Thats a great venue for atmosphere & that, 2 of my 3 fights have been down there & its been amazing. Been to the Aberdeen show twice now, the last one in June last year was a big fancy event, dinner suits & all that but the fights were still excellent.
Well send thsose pics of the ring card girls ASAP!!!!! You know the email add!!...lol
Gotta go the now.
Byeeeeeee

oops, right photo wrong folder! try that again!
that first photo had a different picture on it a minute ago!!
Hmm,
how bizarre.

that first photo had a different picture on it a minute ago!!
Hmm,
how bizarre.
Great photos Toots!!
If you have any more good ones i would be grateful if you could email them to me :-)
Also i will see if any of the guys that were fighting want to order prints from you, so you may make a few bucks aswell :-)
I found out at the weekend that Laverty's name wasnt Paul it was Steven...DOH!!....lol
By the way i was aking for you about how old Mark Kimberley was, seemingly he is about 20 or something. You must be right about him being scared of you Toots as he didnt make the trip up from Bradford :-P
i know!!
Here, what did you think of that first fight???
The one that was grant feilding instead of Mark Kimberely?
i had it:
10/9 10/10 9/10
but i can't see what's going on half the time cause i'm too busy trying to get pictures. Besides, i wanted Grant to win
(i like the simta bradford crew, and don't know the Aberdeen lot, sorry) so i may have been over scoring.
It was close anyway,
but there was "controversy" about the decision, and it's gonna erupt further .
I'd tell you more, but i want your honest opinion first! :-P
Mail me ,
Toots@ukkmuaythai.com
with your snail mail address, and i'll send you a cd of the pictures.
(too many good ones too e-mail them all, lol, if only! Nah, i just think James would like to see all his fight photos.)
Well i thought Jamie won like, maybe you think i am being biased coz we are from the same camp. Grant throw alot of punches & kicks in the first & second but Jamie block the vast majority of them on his gloves, where as the punches & kicks Jamie threw landed more often than not. The third round though i thought Jamie had in under control. You may have seen if completely different like, but thats my opinion. Jamie aint from Aberdeen! We are from Kirkcaldy, Fife.
So what is the up roar about then Toots? I cant believe that Jame's fight was a split decision what judge would give the Chinese boy the fight...he never won a round in my opinion!!!
I'll mail you right away Toots.....Thanx:-)
oh, take the second k out my address DOH!
Em,
i thought the first fight was close, but can see how it could easily have gone either way.
However.
It was recorded for skye tv, yeah.
And the commentator, Grants trainer, said that it only went to the scottish boy cause it was scotland/england,
in scotland with scottish referees!
Which i do not believe.
It went to Jamie (from Kirckaldy, oops sorry) because that's how the judges saw it!
I think it was dead off for the commentator to take advantage of his position saying that!
I dunno precisely what was said, but i can imagine he didn't mention the fact it was one of his own fighting!
I guess we'll see when it comes on tv!!
Oh,
James Graham did slash the Hongkong bloke to ribbons,
but the HK guy didn't falter. he walked through the hardest kicks and punches as if they had no effect.
Which added to the fact that JG fought off his back foot alot, and even turned and ran at one point, will, in some judges eyes, be a win to Chau ying!
Depends how you are scoring.
If one red throws 100 punches and they all land BUT have no noticable effect, then none of those score!
Some will score more for variety of technique, and amount landing.
Others will score for aggression, and amount Affecting!
get it?
Typical English commentator like, you ever watch that "Now Is The Time" thats on Ch5 & SKY?? Also Ring Warriors!! They always kiss ass to the english fighters even though sometimes they are getting turned over by there oppsition!!
They make all the excuses in the book if the English fighter isnt performing very well!! Its like the football aswell, even when England aint playing they always have to chip in with "1966".....lol
Yeah but James likes fighting that way on the backfoot, in & then out & he's good at it aswell. James caught him a few good affective shots, well you saw the guys face after the show & the guy stumbled few times after he got hit aswell. James couldnt punch at all in the 5th round, his hand, he found out is actually broken...ouch!!! Seemingly the HK dude's face was really a mess in the morning, but you are right the guy did to well & sometimes even instigated a few good attacks & caught James a few times.
Anyway he won thats the main thing :-)
I will email you again.......lol
Imagine mis spelling your own email add!!...tut tut ......lol
Byee :-)
Aberdeen Photos are going up now.
Let me know if i've messed it up again!!
And remember, when on the pages with all the images, you can click on the thumbnails and get the full size picture...
thats the
ally scott vs paul shaw
and the
Mark grainger alex sneddon
photos going up now.
Great photos Toots.
Apart from its Paul Shaw not Craig Shaw. :-P
I don't know what you mean (blink blink)
the stephen Laverty vs Mark brown pictures went up today.
What did you think of that bout?
I thought stephen wasn't on form.
He's usually quite good, but he seemed like he couldn't be bothered at all on the night?
Well i have seen Laverty fight only once & that was at Duncan Airle's show against Andrew Henderson. That fight i thought Laverty was very lucky to get the stoppage in the last round.
I have never seen Mark Brown fight before, well i dont think so anyway. I thought that it was abit scrappy & there wasnt really a clear winner until Mark put Steven down.
That Mark Brown is a big laddy for 62 Kilos aint he??
yeah, ed was wooping laverties ass that day, but stephen took it back anf tko'd Ed.
However had the ref been on the ball, ed would have got a standing 8 before it got stopped.
Ive seen Mark fight a few times,
He is really tall, doesn't look as light as he is at all.
and i don't think he's that great.
I was really expecting Stephen to get that one
