His name is Yoshihiro Takayama, and he is a Pride "fighter".

Takayama was fighting Bob Sapp at the 2002/12/31 INOKI BOM-BA-YE in Saitama Super Arena, where Bob won the fight in the first round on a submission armbar.

Do u think Sapp makes a better pride fighter or K-1 fighter?

If Bob belongs in a ring, I will say that Pride fits him lots better than the K-1 do. Before this year is over, I personal believe that Bob no longer will be fighting in the K-1. Because he will get beaten every time he fights a non-Japanese fighter. And how funny is that? Look what happend against CroCop.

Bob Sapp is business and entertainment, and that is exactly what Pride is all about. Fake fights, made up deals and show in- and outside the ring. That is Bob's backyard, he is good at it he knows how to make a dollar out of five cents, and the he has the size and strengths to do well in this "sport". Pride is made for Bob.

Bob in the K-1 is like wearing the wrong colors in the hood, you get beat up and get hurt. Bob can’t make one single kick and he can not block one, high or low. He can’t punch and he goes down on the first bodyshot, so I can not see him having a future in the K-1. Not as a fighter.

According to some of the information on the homepage above, Bob Sapp’s best time in 100 meter is 11'03"… Hmeee right! That is almost like Carl Lewis – that I will like see before I believe it. You can not move 175 kg. so fast, it is simply impossible. I mean, everyone who have seen Bob ”fight” knows that he is as slow as worm up hill.

Furthermore the homepage also says, that Bob can push 300 kg. In Bench Press. Again, I will see that before I buy it. That is more than Arnold in his prime when he was Mr. Olympic. Bob is big and strong, but 300 kg. is about 100 kg. to much.

a friend of mine had a (japanese) friend from school visiting. she hardly
spoke any english, but i figured id ask her if she was familiar with k-1 at all. she said, " oh, yes, bob sapp- very famous in japan now"

ive seen aerts and bernardo on a few commercials over the years, but sapps
popularity eclipses any other fighters i would say.

commercials in japan are a huge payday. brad pitt, tom cruise, arnold s, etc
have all done commercials there because they get paid millions for them.
these guys wouldnt bother doing a commercial in the u.s., but its worth their while to do them in japan..

300 kg bench press is possible...Yes it is. But I would like to see Bob do it before I believe it. The same about his 100 meters on less than 11 seconds.

Man, imagine what it would be like trying to tackle a Bob running at that speed. More dangerous than trying to fight him I think.

175 kg. Running 100 meters in less than 11 seconds - that is high speed and a lot of weight that hits you. I guess that it makes a punch from Mike Tyson feel like a soft kiss from your grandmother, if you compare him with Bob The Beast.

Oliver you are right at the 100m sprint... Is hard to believe see a king kong like that running at 9m per second! If I remember my classes is more than 32km/h (19.8mph)!!!!

Add 5 seconds, and I am beginning to believe it! Bob can not run 100 meters in less than 15 seconds today. Try to put weight on your shoulder so your total weights hit 175 kg, and then start to run. If you can run 100 meters in less than 15 seconds please let me know.

I am not saying that it is impossible, but I would like to see it!

That guy has to have the biggest thigh muscles Ive seen in a non bodybuilder. I can't see how something that big wouldn't be a hinderance.

I'm looking forward to seeing if Bob has learned anything from his fight with Cro-cop.

I really am starting to like the guy. But I think he really needs to loose some of that bulk if he intends on making K-1 a serious carreer. I know he's a tall guy, but surely he'd do a lot better if he started shedding some of that muscle mass.
