Stevie,
I didn't see a cut of any description on Stephen's face, and I was ringside. But my eyesight is similiar to that of a mole, so I would not take it as gospel. The fight was over so early, it was impossible to make any call, but both fighters looked very focused and there did not seem any love lost between the two of them! It was set to be a stormer.
I wish Stephen a speedy recovery, from the replay's it looked very painful.
Kieran got caught very early by a kick that landed just below his hip joint in a very awkward and painful spot. It appeared to numb his entire leg and was unable to block or kick, he tried to fight on but the Thai saw his opportunity and took full advantage of Kierans dis-position.
Kierans fine and has no complaints, it's part and parcel of the game. He'll put that one down to experience, learn from it, come back a better fighter and move on, he always does and will continue to do so. People forget that despite his near 50 fights experience - he is only 22 years old, gets better all the time, but is still not at his prime.
He has at least another three fights this year and I have no doubts that my brother will make amends for this loss, and belive me, someone will pay!!
Cheers,
SK
