Martial Arts Bull-shitters

Why is it that everywhere you go there seems to be so called martial arts instructors that bullshit???

Example:
You move to a town, open up a kickboxing club, and all of a sudden you get people comming in interested about your club, tell you they have been doing thai boxing or kickboxing down the road with the local traditional instructor and proceed to tell you how this instructor is the country's top thai boxer who has apparently had heeps of kickboxing fights and knocked out and smashed some of the countries top ligitamate champions.
But:
you've been doing & heavily involved with the sport for the last 22 years fighting, training fighters & promoting shows and you have never heard of these guys and then when you try to tell them that there instructor has not done what he has told you he has done, or teaching you what you think he is meant to be teaching you they argue the point with you.

Question??

is it the students that are exagerating abit about there instructors martial arts history ???
or is it the instructors that are bullshitting to there students.

and when they tell you the style they have been doing, how many times have you thought to yourself,
how many F@%#en times have i heard that same shit from that same style in other places

I mean am i the only kickboxer that comes agross this or do we all hear this same bullshit???
