Kirk if leg kicks were allowed then it was not a full contact fight. By definition a full contact fight has all kicks above the waist. yes
I understand in those days it was all called full contact karate just like it is all now called kickboxing. Do you honestly think Stan could have beaten Dennis if that block or kick hadn\'t occurred. Mo fought Stan. You know better.
I trained Elmore for his fight with Stan (although I did not go to australia with him). The fight was under full contact rules. Elmore won virtually every round. Stan could not touch Elmore. Even the Australian announcer were saying there is no way Stan won this fight. The aussie judges gave the dec to Stan. The Australian crowd was so upset that they demanded Stan give the title back. Stan being the great gentleman he is did the unheard of. He returned the belt to Elmore. Stan is much of a man . I have the greatest respect for him as a champion and a human being. However I do not think he could beat Dennis with out leg kicks. Yes Dennis did make a lot of remarks about him being the best leg kicker in the world. He found out he was wrong with Stan. \"I\" said he was one of the best full contact fighters in the world. Yes I know Aerts would be tough under any rules as would Hoost. Hoost has several full contact losses though. I saw him lose to Theriault on ESPN. I\'m pretty sure he lost the rematch. Rick Roufus handily beat him in their first match moving in and out. Playing the distance game. He even hit him with a 360 jump spin back kick in the face. The second fight roufus decided to stay close and use his boxing skills. This was a mistake. Hoost broke Rick\'s arm with a kick. He later knocked him out because Rick could not keep that arm up. I\'m not saying Dennis would beat these guys in K-1. I\'m just saying in full contact in his prime I believe Dennis could have beaten most of them. I also believe Dennis would beat Mo in full contact. I believe Mo would beat him with leg kicks.
