Thanks J.A

I wish someone had shared the info with me when I first started out.
Honestly, my memories of pro photographers back in the early 80s, was of a pack of mean bitches. It all came from the rivalry of working for different daily publications, and wanting to bring back the best images for their respective jobs. I can understand taking your job seriously, but not to the point of becoming a mean prick to all those beside you.

I thought to myself that it was all so unnecessary, and many times have seen Pro's give new comers whom where no threat to them, but simply there for the sake of hobby, deliberately give amateurs bad advice, and then turn to another pro and giggle. Back then, this could cost an average bloke half a days wages to be able to shoot and develop a couple of rolls of colour film (days before mini labs in early 80s, you were paying more than you do now, except that wages were about $45 a day.

Also, I'm probably going to move to Sydney which is already being professionally covered by my good mate and Ax member Ian Sly, with whom I have no intention of being rival too. I would much rather sit alongside Ian and have a yap between rounds. I'll probably try and get into motor racing for passion, and Weddings fro bread and butter work.
So my motives are a little selfish, as when I'm no longer able to go to these Vic shows, I'd still like to be able to see good images, so why not teach the new blokes who want to learn as much as I can.

And mate, I'm so impressed by both guys. Both doing extremely well, and spending much of their own money and time to bring these images to us.
