It is offcial that fighters magazine has withdrawn articles written by Nick Hewitson and he has been removed as one of their contributors. The magazine has prooved its worth and the Muay Thai/ Kickboxing community has exposed him. I hope that our friends in the US will investigate further as he apparently teaches seminars there and trains marines/navy seals!!! lol. This is good news for us as a community we have stuck together to expose a fraud. Thank you to the Fighters magazine and AX site for making this happen. I shall continue to support the efforts of Paul,Martin and the team at Fighters buy selling the magazine. I have been asked to remind all of the Thai and Kickboxing community that we are all welcome to contribute whether it be show reports, seminars, techniques, training tips, tours etc. As long as the articles are written properly, good quality photos are provided then all material will be considered.

The best way to support the magazine is to sell it on the gym level and subscribe each month. It is not enough to depend upon people going to smiths to buy it. Instructors get in contact with Paul Clifton and get subscribed even if its just a couple of copies per month. If we all contribute show reports, fighters to the rankings, equipment profiles, advertising, articles we can make this magazine great and unite the Muay Thai community. It can become our events calender for all future shows. We can showcase our fighters to the world. This is what we need! others have tried and failed. This will suceed as long as people support it from the gym level and get the students reading up on the sport. I make my students interested in getting a copy to keep them abreast of the UK and worldwide scene by telling them about the articles in each copy. The Tony Myers bit was a good enough reason for mine to get a copy. With enthusiasm and encouragement this can become the greatest thing for the Thai/kick/mma community.

An idea of mine would be to have a forthcmoming televised events page like radio times! To cover shows on Bravo,Eurosport, Channel 5, Sky sports, pay per view etc. The biggest problem with televised events is the lack of advertsing. If Fighters had all the month coming show times for superleague, UFC,Boxing k1, mma etc it would be great. It would be like the TV times for martial arts! Suggestions and contributions are welcome so I have been told so lets all do that, mine is a television page so that people buy the mag to record and watch up and coming events. I'd have it at home in front of the sky plus box with a recording set for each show. What do others think of a tv program page so that we dont miss out anymore? Nobody had done it yet and this would be a sales winner I know it! Id sell a lot more copies if that was in it! hint hint! I am sure sky, eurosport and bravo, channel 5 would comply as it would increase their viewing figures and encourage people to subscribe to sky! What does anyone else think? Arent you sick of going into the gym and hearing somebody say what great fights they watched last night whilst you watched some crap because you didnt know it was on. We are screaming out for this big time with all the boxing, thai boxing, k1. ufc, cage raghe shows, kickboxing, documentaries etc. Viewing figures and magazine sales would rocket from this! Get the channels to use the magazine as there advert and I reckon sponsorship would follow. Just an idea what do others think of a forcoming monthly combat page for all Martial and boxing events? It is the only way we can inform all our students of when the shows are on or if you have a fighter from your gym on TV!
