For me I prefer dry for my asthma.
When I lived in Arizona, for 5 years, I didn't have any trouble with my asthma, and I was smoking cigarettes too at the time.
Then when I moved to Los Angeles, my asthma came back strong within a few months.
Many people with serious respiratory problems have moved to dry climates.
Many doctors recommend it.
A couple years ago during the winter I was using a heater with steam and I was getting bad asthma and mucus build-up.
Then I immediately got rid of that heater and started using a heater without steam and my illness immediately started to clear up.
Whenever the climate because more moist like rainy season etc my lungs will act up.
I have used a dry heater even when I wasn't cold just to counteract the moisture in the air and it has worked.
Avoid steam.
