BLZbub

There are two sides to the 'BLZbub' coin today.

HEADS - Im happy at having been to a really enjoyable show in a beautiful venue. Well done to the promoters, you provided some quality. The fighters were all up for it and I take my hat off to all of them. It was sporting and full on from the word go.

TAILS - Some of those officials need to be shot. That is the bottom line!!!
Gassing, electrocution, or hanging, would all be acceptable alternatives.
I've been studying a lot of DVD and video recently to try and improve my understanding, and I just can't make sense of some of the crap I saw today.
Far too many ware scored as draws. I only saw one that I thought was a draw. I think some of those judges chose to sit on the fence instead of making an effort to reward the rightful winners.
How the last bout could have been scored as a draw is just scandalous. ROBBERY is the only word that describes that decision. I've seen Conor fight 3 times and I have massive respect for him, but I'm sure he will class himself as more than lucky to take a draw today. John Dick should have won that fight by at least 2 points, and I'm seriously pissed that he didnt.

Was this a unanimous decision? Or a majority? Excuse me if I'm rocking the boat but I bought a ticket, which makes me a customer, and I think my question is reasonable.

Who scored what in this bout?

I think that each judge's scores should be announced publicly at the end of the fight. That would force them to get their act together.
Incidentaly, I heard today that Tony Myers is coming up to do a judgeing and refereeing course next month. I would reccommend that the half wits who drew this bout not only go to the course, but actually try to learn a thing or two.

Moving on to referees, Kenny Burnett had his usual steady performance. It was interesting reading the body language between him and Dougie Clark. If those guys manage to arrange a fight in the future it's going to be a belter.

Frank Watkins is a guy I never used to like after he stopped one of my mates a couple of years ago. In hindsight, my mate was getting hammered big time and it was a novice fight, so the guy was just doing his job and protecting the weaker man. I think Frank is a dependable professional. He never seems to get flustered or show emotion. Earlier in this topic he was described as inspirational which I would agree with after I saw him in the ring at the Caledonian sparring event. Big balls! Maybe he would take on a fight as well as Kenny Burnett? They could be on the same card. I would pay good money to see that.
But who would referee? ........ Certainly not that other eejit Ferns who reffed some of the fights today. Warning fighters for things they obviously couldnt help, and that pulling their arms down business. He seemed more interested in wiping down the ropes with his face cloth than doing the job properly. He reminded me of Stephan Fox, 'The Towel Man'. Maybe it's his trade mark. The guy looked totally out of his depth.

Well that's my rant over! Thanks for the otherwise great show. I can only hope that Mr Myers course is extremely well attended.

P.S. I am serious about wanting to know how each of the judges scored the last fight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
