Jordan Tai ripz up

Jordan Tai - SuperLeague Elimination Champion 2006
The Budocenter in Vienna was boiling hot this evening. The event was a huge success with spectacular fights and with some great KO’s. The winner of the Elimination tournament was “underdog” Jordan Tai from New Zealand. Tai was in the reserve fight against Michael Hansgut. Tai knocked him out in the second round and was ready to advance if he would get the chance. Unfortunately for Peter Crooke he got injured in his fight against Istvan Toth wich gave the young New Zealander the chance to fight in the tournament. Tai did certainly not waste his big opportunity as he stopped Petr Polack, also with a second round KO. In the final he was up against Jose Reis who beaten the strong Sahin Yakut and young talent Amir Zeyada to earn his place in the final. Jordan Tai won the final on points and is now recognized as one of the absolute top fighters in the SuperLeague.

Alviar Lima defeated Fadi Merza on points and became the first ever SuperLeague European Champion. In the Super Fight we saw tactical genius Dimitry Shakuta get the decision against Sean Michael Chapman.
