Ive had that a few times, Ive never really had it looked at properly by anyone when it has happened because as you mentioned most of the function is their, just annoying things like turning the steering wheel in the car ,holding handle bars while riddiing bike etc, oh yeah and turning door knobs lol. My advice would be to rest it when training and and use it still in all the other ways that you have where it doesnt cause you pain, cause you dont want it to get tooo weak. I usually just listened to what my body told me and when it seemed like I could use it on the bags ,I did tentatively...and if any pain I would just ease off.

Always helped me develpop my left anyhow, injuries are good for that, being able to focus on an area that you wouldnt usually utilise.

make sure you give it good support when you are training, but if its not too bad i dont know if its necesary to strap it for day to day activities.
