Lom muay is indeed the correct term.
Don't know who Namkabuan was fighting when he was sent from the ring. As Tony says a lot of big names have done it in the past, but also a lot of times the fighters get sent from the ring for not fighting to the required level, but they havent been paid off, sometimes they may have been told they must fight and are not in good enough shape, there are often other reasons. I remember Sakadpetch got sent down from the ring a while back when he fought Nopparat, but most that knew both fighters well, knew they were close friends and this definately played a big part in Sakadpetch's performance. You can also look at the fighter and think they are very bad for doing such a thing, but they have often been ripped off something rotten by their managers and don't recieve anywhere near what they should. Sebveral rules have been introduced now to try and clean up the sport, including prison sentences for fighters found to have dome it and also the people that have paid them to throw a fight and Lumpini stadium not long ago made the fighters collect and sign for their 50% of the purse seperate from the bosses so the fighters know exactly how much they should be paid.
Back to Namkabuan, he made an appearnce at the big Songchai show last week and looks more like a boyband member now than a fighter, both him and his brother Namphon have done well for themselves since they have retired, running succesful restaurants across Thailand.
