keepyerguardup thanks mate. i like reading the threads between Mark L and Spida H they are quite funny and if you read what they are on about you pick up great tips and other stuff i.e information sources that will help you improve your life, health, fitness, sport, hobby and then can research it for yourself. all these guys really know their stuff and i personally will research, evaluate, re research, re evaluate, take what i feel will work for me and use it, keep the rest as information and store it in my brain for future reference. i am lucky i can always remember things that i read/experience that i am interested in, i research, evaluate, use and disseminate information everyday in my day job. prior to this i worked as a fitness instructor, Muay Thai Teacher, and fighter. in my experience of the CHEK system and the Metabolic Type Diet(last 2 weeks) it is working for me i feel great, i am losing fat, i have excess energy and only training 2-3 times per week at present although i do the ball work and core work at home and instruct 4 times a week.
i have researched Spida's stuff also, and his systems also hold a lot for me i will be applyiong some of them in the future.
i mention all of these things to my students and they are impressed with the results so far. Sparring again on Monday @ 1 hour rotating partners - 2 minute rounds 1 minute rests with a heavy bag round for the odd guy out , this time younger fitter guys who are fighting at C class i was all over them, better speed, reactions, recovery, blocking - some may say experience yes this helps, some may say motor skills are now being reruited in a better way as my body remembers its younger days, i agree that this is a factor. but remember i fought at 63-66 kg retiring 1996 due to serious back injury, i am now 107 kg (i have lost 15 kg in last 2 months although @ 5 kg of that is in last 2 weeks)i have about 30% body fat which makes my ideal healthy weight approximately 82.3 kg with 10% body fat so currently i am fat(obese), unfit,5'8" and 3 weeks ago when sparring i was blowing like a good un - for me the system i am now using is working, people are commenting on how well i look, i am more relaxed and feel much happier in myself, my work and my life.
the only problem now is that i will need to buy a whole new wardrobe of clothes. lol
Remember to keep an open mind, research ALL that which is out there and use what you think will work for YOU. good luck.
