Snail - Re AM i current World Champion? Good Question! I believe I still am the WKA World Light Middle Full Contact Champion.
However there was some discusion about me defending abroad and i stipulated that my first defence should be in my home town. This subject was disputed for some time...If you look at WKA web site today I am still listed as The Current World Champion.
In the melee of all the discusions I started planning my next move (challenge). It was to move up in weight and fight someone I regarded as a Ring Legend. And someone who truly can be described as The Undisputed Middleweight Champion OF THE World.
That title could not be questioned and Lex's record as a Professional Full Contact fighter is second to none.
50 fights 48wins 1 draw 1 loss (39 KO's). Including win in 2005 of 8 man 75kg tournament inc George Kampitas.
His wins include some of the most prolific fighters the UK have ever produced.
I have campaigned at both weights previously, but it is fair to say this is the biggest challenge yet.
As the current Light Middle World Champion I asked myself should I try and become a 2 weight World Champion. I had the opportunity as I was ranked in the Top 10 in the World by the IKF as I had campaigned at this weight previously.
Lex is the No.1 according to the IKF, the rest speaks for itself. Originally this was a IKF World Title Fight.
Barrinder - You are a little naive to suggest this fight Low Kick Fight (loss) has any purpose or bearing on my fight with Lex in March other than an opportunity to sharpen Lex's skills.
All - Tickets are selling fast and Barry Lock another British NO.1 has confirmed he is to fight John Lawson's top fighter Keith Morris over 7 rounds in a non title bout which I am sure will be another cracker.Thsi match is at 55kg!
Thanks!
Full Contact will out in force March 10th 2007.
