Whatever else is said, it is absolutely true that Dixon has done some great things for the sport in this region. I've said that many times and I still stand behind it.

I had heard Ray's side of the story some time ago but didn't do anything with it for just the reason that Rex has pointed out - I don't know how good it is for the sport in NZ if what is effectively the only (big) show in town is compromised. However when I found out it was going to be out in the media anyway I thought that people in the scene should have access to what has been said.

For all the good that Dixon has done (and he's done heaps)you have to ask what motive would Ray have for taking this step. I've spoken with Ray and he's really ticked. I have no doubt that he 100% believes the allegations and he appears to have some pretty solid evidence to back it up. If Ray's allegations are true - why should Dixon be protected from the consequences of his actions just because he is the main promoter in NZ kickboxing?

Ray is managing himself now and K-1 have apparently offered him the rights to run Oceania but he was still considering his options when I spoke to him last.

I still hope that the Kings of Oceania is a success and that it creates other opportunities for our Heavyweights but I still stand behind our decision to reprint the article - it's a big story for our sport and people deserve the opportunity to read it for themselves and come to their own conclusions.
