This may gear up a few as here is how I would rank it purely my thoughts and it has no reflection of how the draw is now.
1 Peter Sampson
2 Andrew Peck
3 Leamy Tato
4 Steve McKinnon
5 Felise Leniu
6 Eric Nosa
7 Charlie Smiler
8 Jason Reti
Diplomacy in draw has Andrew Peck and Jason Reti from ETK
Steve McKinnon and Eric Nosa from Bulldog
Then you have pull outs which changes everything again an example was Ben Edwards pulling out which meant Andrew Peck meating Peter Sampson in the first round and also Andrew being in the same pool as Jason Reti.
K-1 match make their tournaments except for the Grand Prix, you also potentially face one of the 2 top seeded fighters not going through to the next round they are also both big leg kickers which means you potentially face the victor not being able to proceed. Why do you think K-1 matched Peter Graham against Badr Hari because they new that if he won which he did he would be battered for the next round and I cant ever recall Peter Graham going down to leg kicks. The way that I look at it is if a new fighter has a chance in which I will give any new commer the chance to shine he needs to do it against top opponents not ones the same level. What you must remember Norm is that we are not just entertaining the purists we are entertaining the nation.
Leamy vs Eric, Leamy has taken the country by storm with his last 2 outings but who is Eric Nosa the the general NZ public we will soon find out. Same applies to Andrew and Charlie, Jason and Steve and Felise and Peter is the classic Puncher v Kicker. 3 new commers have a chance to make a name for them selves wether they win the tournament or not. Their populrity depends on the first round. Every single one of the new guys would be over the moon if they could notch up a victory over their opponent who is rated higher.
