Mr. Ts account of the event … Notice the sequence of events that Mr. T says lead to him throwing a knee, and that Andrews statement says his tackle/grappling was the Muay Thai Based defense against an already loaded knee strike. Mr. T states that he threw a knee ONLY because Andrew had placed himself in position by moving/falling forward that merely invited that form of attack.
I think Norm made the right call but at the wrong time. When I hit Andrew with the BIG KABOSH with my right hand Andrews’s eyes rolled back which is why I went after him with another right then he dropped and I banged him with 2 uppercuts and a left. Andrew was in cuckoo land with the fairies. When I went back to my corner while Andrew was getting his suppose to be 8 counts I was wondering what was taking so long. It wasn’t until I watched the fights on TV2 that I saw what had happened. I knew Andrew was still stunned and when we restarted and I went after him with some more KABOSH because his eyes were letting me know that he was still in cuckoo land with the fairies and the butterflies (laughs), till Norm broke us up again. Then when we went at it the 3rd time I went into overdrive with some more Tee man specials and he was coming forward or starting to fall and I threw a left knee at his head but then fell over when he leaned on me.
Andrew Pecks Account of the events leading up to the stoppage, from the end of the count till the final stoppage by the Ref. Notice Andrews’s sequence of events that culminates in the Tackle/grapple that he says is a Muay Thai Based Defense to a supposed anticipated/incoming knee strike that he says was the cause of his need to “move forward” and which Mr. T refers to as falling forward thus inviting a knee strike to the head
“ the fight was unfairly stopped. We put a lot of work into these tournaments and to be stopped like that, okay, if I got my arse knocked out that would be fair enough, and if I had my legs smashed to pieces fair enough. I feel that it was really, really unfair. I’ve watched Norm calling me out of the corner maybe three times , and then when he finally says step forward with your hands up, I do like he requests its not my fault the referee was making the wrong call. I’ve never heard of asking someone to come forward with their hands down. The referee has to ask you to step forward with your hands up, to show that you can protect yourself by keeping your hands up and when the referee remembered the call I stepped forward.”
“I also looked at that referee and nodded at him before he asked me to step forward, so I wasn’t all over the place. Anyone can watch the videotape and see that. I wasn’t the beneficiary of a long count because he started asking me to step forward. At 6, which allows me 4 seconds”…
Andrews’s entire account of things; from after the count till game over.
I landed a leg kick and a good solid jab straight after the fight had been carried on. Then he fell over, not me, which means his legs are either sore or his stamina is gone.
.
On this very same thread just a few days ago, Andrew filled in the missing bits.
“
and as for tackling someone are you kidding I was moving forward so I didn't get hit by his knee ,which resulted in him falling down, where you picked him up of the ground and called him the winner, with me standing there clear as day thinking what the hell is going on a fix.... maybe?
Mr. T THREW A KNEE BECAUSE YOU LOWERED YOUR BODY AND MOVED/FELL FORWARD AND I SAW IT AS A TACKLE. A knee was a response to your actions not your actions a response to a knee.
The supposed to be eight counts was extremely long. K1s insistence on a ref calling “DOWN” and then the announcer calling out the count on a microphone is not something any of us here in NZ do, because I forget the new way of doing it but the end result mostly ends up well, except in your case. I said that I thought you were playing a game with me and I find out through the words in your interview that you indeed were playing games. A fighter who thinks the ref has to say the right words is a fool of a fighter. I don’t look at whether your hands are up; I look at how your balance is. That is more accurate in more opinion, of whether or not you can defend yourself. I didn’t say put your hands up even the third time did I Andrew? I do recall Pleading with you saying ‘STEP FORWARD MAN!!! Your mind game won you that part of the game. It served only to confuse me. You nodded your head and yet ignored me. I didn’t think you were that stupid, it appears I was bloody wrong about that by just looking at your statements.
