So you believe that Hoost is THE favorite. I am not so sure if Hoost got what it takes to win the title again, but who knows? Hoost is a perfect fighter, he has an amazing spirit, great physic and a powerful lowkick. But he need some more power and strength in his punches, so he can finish more of his fights early. Mostly of Hoost fights is won by points, and fighting 6 or 8 rounds before you get to the finale, is far from healthy or good for your over all chances to become champion.
I will say that Leko is not the best draw for Hoost. Leko is a great boxer, and I am sure that he will trade punches with Hoost, and try to win the center of the ring. As I see it, Leko has the strongest punches and he is also has the best boxing skill of those two. But Hoost has a stronger spirit than Leko, and his kicks or also more powerful, so it is going to be one tuff and exciting fight. I think that Leko will win the fight on points after 3 round of fighting, but let wait and see.
Aerts is not strong enough to take out Jerome or Ignashov, not in year 2001. If Peter could get back to the strength and amazing technique that he had back in the late 90's, I would have said that Peter could beat them all – by ko. But today Peter is over the hill, and I think that this will be his last Grand Prix.
Peter Lumberjack Aerts has been in the game for many years, and his body and his mind is not as strong as it was in the days when he was the absolute champion and king of the K-1. And I am sure that Peter knows that. I highly respect Peter Aerts, he is a great human and fighter, but Jerome and Ignashov are to strong for the great Dutchman.
I still think that it would be Jerome Vs Ignashov in the finale. But I will laugh big time if it is going to be Pettas Vs Hunt. That would be the biggest surprise in the K-1 history.
