Who will win the Grand Prix 2001?

Jerome is in my eyes the biggest favorite together with Ignashov, even do many K-1 fans don’t think that Le Banner is the best tournament fighter in the game, including myself.

If Jerome was in the same group as Pettas, Filho and Aerts I will say that he had a 99% chance to win the title this year. But being in the same group as the former champion Hoost and Leko who is better than ever, and who both also in my eyes are dark-house for a place in the finale, will force Jerome to fight the absolute best of his capability to get the victory. Jerome has the power and strength like a grizzly bear, but his spirit is much weaker than many of the other fighters, so I don’t know if he got what it takes to stand as "the" champion at the end of the day?

I think that Jerome’s biggest chance to win the title will be, if he can KO Hunt in the first round in his opening fight, so he can go past to the 2nd round without injury’s. Because Leko Vs Hoost are going to be the hardest fight of the night, and no matter who of the two fighters there will win this war, the winner will be very very tiered and hurt for his 2nd round.

The reason why I believe in Ignashov is first of all, because his lucky draw against Pettas in his opening fight. I can not see how the Great Dane can defeat the big Ignashov? I think it will be a quick fight – where Pettas will loose on KO before the end of the 2nd round. Then Ignashov will be ready for Aerts or Filho, who both are over the hill, so Ignashov most also be one of the favorites. Or are we in for a new big surprise????????????

It could be ”fun” if Aerts are going to fight Hoost in the finale, champion vs. Champion. Then I will take my hat off for Peter in respect!
