I am glad that you, Hape, Shane, Ali and Lucy all believe in Mark Hunt. I hope for you that he will bring home the belt. I like Hunt, he is a strong fighter, but I don’t think that he has the physic, skills or routine to win the title this year!!
1) First of all, he is not the best or the strongest fighter of the 8 worriers in the 2001 K-1 Grand Prix. (Not in my eyes.)
2) Mark Hunt doesn’t have the routine. One thing is to fight a tournament home in Australia, in front of a home-crowed, good friends and family. But fighting in the Tokyo Dome in the biggest tournament of the year, in the most prestige full event of the game, together with the absolute best fighters in the K-1, is an enormous presser. This is the first time for Hunt, and I just don’t think that Mark can “walk in from the street” and take the title, if you know what I mean?
3) No one expect that Mark Hunt will win, no one!!! Please don’t misunderstand me friends, and with all my deepest respect to Hunt, but no one around the world except a little handful on this message board, believe that Mark will or can win the title. I will say that I don’t even think that he can go 3 rounds against Jerome in his opening fight. So the expectations to Hunt are as I see it: " If you win Mark, well... Then it is great. But if you loose, it is no shame because the other fighters are the favorites, and you did the best you could."
I can simply NOT see how Mark Hunt can be a bigger favorite than Ernesto Hoost, who is a tree times champion, or a bigger favorite than Jerome who hasn’t lost a fight in the last two years. Or bigger than Leko their have just have won in Las Vegas with style. Mark Hunt cant simply not be the favorite, I mean he is only in the Grand Prix because of Ray Sefo got an injury. If Mark not even can defeat Sefo, well how can he take out Jerome, Leko, Hoost, Ignashov, Aerts or Filho? Please tell me, because I can not se the picture myself???
Nothing-personal friends, ok! I like and respect Mark Hunt, but... Tell me something that I don’t know, please.
