Oliver how interesting it is that you would like to teach me Kyokushin, what is funny, my trainer was ex-kyokushin Selwyn Jones from NZ. He actually switched to the Shidokan, following Yoshiji Soeno whom was next under Mas Oyama. Soeno was giving the name of the Kyokushin Tiger. The reason why my trainer followed Soeno was that he was a boxer before he joined Kyokushin, and the Shidokan allowed you to thai-box and kickbox,wrestling, kendo, judo all of whom Soeno was the all Japanese Champion of, as well as Black belts in Wado Ryu, Goju Ryu.
Where as Kyokushin stayed traditional.
