Then I look for possible stressful events around that time - almost always find something. Clear that up and amazing things happen.

Stress and emotions can block energy flows through the meridians... if thats the case then that will inhibit physical healing. The body naturally wants to heal, if not healing there is generally something out of balance in my experience.
