The great Steve Babbs in action in the late 70's remember not all fights were held in a ring in those early days some were on the mat,I had my second fight on the mat and it was'nt good because your opponent would jump off the mat if he was getting hurt.Steve Babbs was one of many Lau Gar Kung Fu stars who ruled both semi-contact and full-contact fighting,there were quite a lot of champions that came from Lau Gar.I did Lau Gar for 9 years and met,trained or sparred with many of the big names of those early days and they were always an inspiration.
